The two sat in silence for a long while. It was a comfortable one. One of shared memories and companionships, old friends and loved ones they would never see again, of actions, regrets, triumphs and failures. They had their own personal feelings, their personal thoughts, but they had shared a lifetime and would forever be intertwined by the circumstances of their births. Neither tom regretted such an attachment for a second and when the urge to travel on suddenly swept over each cat, they stood as one, and trekked on through the canopy of bleak trees, limbs stretched out towards the apathetic sky as though grasping for some strand of warmth.
And in this twisted, barren place of cold, lifeless trunks, and a scornful sky that cared not for their existence, they were happy. ~Weepingstar and Fireflychaser in the Dark Forest Reference used: https://d2gg9evh47fn9z.cloudfront.net/800px_COLOURBOX2912710.jpg
A bit late, but now that I've seen this, I have to note just how wonderful it is! Great passage and intriguing use of lighting in this piece. I may not have been here for Weepingstar, but I really get the impression that he was an incredible character.
This is such a gorgeous piece, I love the color palette and the cats' posing. The trees also look great-- looks like you're getting more comfortable with the color blending tool?
