3/11/17 New Leaders
Jaguarstar, Ravenstar, Boundstar, and (a bit prematurely) Creekstar! Since there are so few leaders this time around, I figured I'd share a little bit of my process with these drawings. I did the line art first, then colored them. I drew Creekstar first with the intent of making her look regal, with her eyes just a touch out of focus to show her near-sightedness. Boundstar was next, I'm not sure how successful I was with his pelt, but I think I got his unusually optimistic (for a NightClanner, that is) look down. I skipped ahead of Ravenstar (black cats are hard for me to draw) and went to Jaguarstar-- who I really struggled with. I hope I did a good job with his pelt, Silver, I was looking at that reference you gave me but the colors just didn't want to behave. Hopefully this is good enough. Then I went back to Ravenstar, who proved to be pleasantly easy. I tried to stress her youth, which I think I was fairly successful in.

It really is a pretty design, I was so annoyed with my brush for not cooperating xD

King, especially after the last time they were all ginger cats and I was trying to push any grey values in their designs.

Thanks, Morningbreeze! :)

Kingfish, thanks! Haha, I always imagine Jaguarstar to be grey for some reason, I almost drew him in that way and was going to complain that all the last leaders were ginger and now all the new ones are grey. Thankfully he broke the mold and brought some variety to the picture!

Silverwind, it?s fine. It?s half the fault of the style I use for these, since the brush I use pushes patterns into being horizontal lines so I have to get a little creative with blending with other brushes to copy the style without losing details. Yep, I did, Ravenheart?s refs were a handful of kitten pictures. I hope Avery likes Creekstar being fluffy, it didn?t mention anything about fur length in her description so I took some liberty to make her stand out.

Alienfish, haha, I even used the right name in one place but not in another. Just fixed it! Thanks!

Jaguar brings contrast. XD I actually hadn't really paid that much attention, but now that you mention it, that's actually funny that all but one leader are some variation of gray. Lol

That drawing is nice haha
I love the fur patterns for each leader exspiceally Ravenstar's. I like how there is a pattern even in to Ravenstar's pelt, is not plan out black. I love it!

Lightning, thanks!

Avery, sorry about that, I just assumed since it wasn't stated explicitly in her description.

Creekstar is a shorthair, but I'm glad I got to see how you imagined her. You did a great job, Ember. *When I realize I don't have a longhair character and never have*

All the new leaders look great :D I love that you explained why you drew some of them as you did, it's really interesting to learn the emotions/ characteristics you thought most prominent.

I couldn't say it better than it's already been said - these are glorious! Jaguarstar's pelt can't be described any differently than how Kingfish has already described it - purely fantastic! You captured Ravenstar's youth perfectly. 'Ricochetstar' has only one problem, which is that you called him Ricochetstar in the description ('Ricochetstar was next, I'm not sure how...). Unless, of course, that was intentional. Also, I agree with Silverwind: Egyptian Mau's are great cats. Then there's Creekstar. I had no idea you put that much thought into how a cat would look. I did, however, know that you could definitely succeed in making them look that way.

He looks fine. :) I feel kinda bad I picked a breed with such a hard pelt pattern to draw up... :( *hangs head in shame*

Boundstar looks EPIC! (I absolutely love Egyptian Maus ^-^)

You used a kitten/younger cat reference for Ravenstar, didn't you? :P Cute! *heart*

And floofy Creekstar! Yeeeiiii! *huggles* Soft, floofy baby!

Jaguarstar's pelt is fantastic! OMG!!!! And I don't know how (actually, I do: Ripple's profile pic.) but I keep imagining Boundstar being a russet tabby; I always fail to remember that he's an Egyptian Mau (Meow....) XD
