I thought it'd be interesting to write a little bit about how Ghost would have been as leader of Nightclan (interesting for me at least) so I'll just do a run through of what would have happened. Only moments after Phantomstar's death, Ghost would have laid down a new set of rules that would be strict and strictly enforced. Unlike Crimsonstar, he would have absolutely no paranoia and would deal with all members of his clan in a calm and sometimes cruel manner. He would murder any cat he thought would defy him and would expect every member of the clan to follow his rules perfectly. If they didn't they would face harsh punishments, such as being dropped back to the rank of kit for a few moons, or in extreme cases killed. He would not exile any member of his clan and he would try to hunt down all those who left, because he saw leaving the clan worth the punishment of death. He would have held an eternal grudge against Moonclan and encouraged raids on the camp and crossing over the border with them, though he would have attempted to appease the other two clans and bring them over to Nightclan's side through lies and manipulation. Due to all of this, I believe any popularity he may have had would have plummeted quickly, especially when he named Maplefur as his deputy (if she was still around at the time). He would not have barred romance as Sunkenstar did, but he would have required a permanent queen to take care of all the kits and raise them to be cruel and fearless Nightclan warriors. Ghost always liked to view himself as a patriot, and so he would have fought for Nightclan tooth and claw until the bitter end, but he would have focused too much on the larger picture, forgetting to view the members of the clan as actual cats and not just parts of a larger machine.
