I agree with Ember, I think you've got the shading in the right places, but it could use some different colors (she says as she can't draw good)
If you don't mind the suggestion, I think you would have a lot more success shading if you tried layering in different colors in warm and cold shades, rather than just using black. I know that was a big turning point with my art.
