"What do you mean you won't give me the mercenaries?!" spat the tom, his spine bristling and tail bushing out. "Now that Threelegs is dead, I'm the leader of BloodClan, and now YOU'RE going to stand in my way? That's a stupid move, Scytheclaw." Scythe lashed his tail, arching his back. "The Night Owls are loyal to me, Kingfish, and they have no respect for you." The deputy could feel a pang of terror looking into the dual-colored gaze of the leader. "You're insane if you think I'll just toss them to you like rubbish; you'll only hurt the forest Clans!" Kingfish snorted. "BloodClan will take the whole forest, even if it must stand upon a pile of ashes. I want the mercenaries NOW, Scythe." "You'll never have them!" His temper suddenly cooled, and his snarl was exchanged for a twisted smirk. "Every cat has his weakness." He turned back to his clan. "Find Athena." Scytheclaw's pale blue eyes rounded as he was dragged away by the two warriors that held him down. "Wait... WAIT! NO!" he wailed. If they found his daughter, it was very likely that Kingfish would have his way with her, if not kill her. "KINGFISH! DON'T DO THIS!" Relishing in the agonized cried of his deputy, Kingfish chuckled quietly to himself before walking away, unknowingly passing right by a trembling, quietly sobbing Athena whose blue eyes didn't dare wander from her hunter. A scene from my own warriors fiction, taking place in the newly moved and resurrected clans from the original series (including a newly risen BloodClan) containing my characters Kingfish, Scytheclaw, and Scythe's daughter Athena. Basically, the clan is divided: one half follows BloodClan's leader, Kingfish, who wants to conquer and/or destroy the forest, and the other half follows his deputy, Scytheclaw, who is fighting to save the clans.

EDIT: Okay, so guys. I DIDN'T MEAN FOR THIS TO BE INAPPROPRIATE. When I was little, I thought that if you kissed, you'd have a baby after however long. So no, Lunar and Stripe didn't do anything, this is just after they kissed. :/ Lunar thinks she's pregnant, then reads the test again and she realized that she read it wrong. If it's hard to read: "STRIPE!" said Luanr. "You got me pregnant, you jerk!" Striped looked at the test. "Are you serious? Two lines?" Lunar looked at the test again. "lol, just kidding!" she said as she walked away, feeling quite silly.

I just realized that I messed up what side his blue eye and which side his green eye is on. In my avatar (which is correct), his left eye is green, and his right eye is blue, but in the last two pictures, I switched them. Rrrrrrrrrr.....

The Hunting Challenge

Here's a scene in NightClan territory when Kingfish and Ducklingpond decide to do a hunting challenge. This isn't the best painting I've done, but I tried. I had to reference the mouth a few times from various pictures, and now Kingfish's face looks funny. XD Hopefully I got Ducking right. Now to do the next scene.

Imran Kills the Gang

Another scene from the roleplay. This is when Imran kills off his gang when they threaten to kill his son, Victor. So many effects! Motion blue, Gaussian blur, icy breath, various brushes.... Was going for something slightly more stylized, so there are more solid lines and stuff.

Threelegs' Reflection Page 1

Something from my site, which may become cannon on this site. Threelegs' son, Victorycry, was left in BloodClan's camp to defend it while Threelegs evaded them, hiding out in the loner forests. Victory was cornered during a raid in which the clans tried to capture him in order to interrogate Threelegs' hiding place out of him. Instead, Victorycry ate red butcher berries- which are poisonous to both humans and cats. Thus, Victory dies, and the word gets out to Threelegs. This is a scene shortly after Victor's death, while Threelegs is mulling over his son's demise.

Oh look! Victorycry is an unnatural shade of purple-blue in this page! I meant for him to look more gray than that, but evidently that didn't happen... Ha! And I got Kingfish's eyes right... But the scar is missing. -_-

The shading style changed. Oops. Oh well. Kamin was Threelegs' predecessor, founder of the new BloodClan. He highly trusted Threelegs, especially when he started to lose grip on his clan, and BloodClan started to fall away again.He named Threelegs his deputy, owing his life to him after Threelegs saves him from a small mutiny in the clan. StarClan gives a sign to StreamClan (formerly RiverClan) that BloodClan is to be the fifth clan in the forest, as SkyClan was utterly destroyed by twolegs. Kamin didn't like the idea of having to share the forest, so he decided that he would make a "peace offering" of foxglove-poisoned mice. When the next gathering happened, Threelegs switched a poisoned mouse with a normal mouse, poisoning Kamin. When Kamin started to feel ill, Threelegs killed him, and thus took over BloodClan, though his honor among his clan was damaged, as many began to wonder if he would kill them as well for stepping out of line.

What If it Just Hurts

A little bit of vent. I've been feeling kind of depressed lately. My best friend is angry and has stopped talking to me about something I did a few months ago to save her from a very dangerous situation, and I've not talked to any friends in a while, leaving me feeling lonely. On top of that, I've been taking a class for work, and every time I open my mouth, I feel like I'm just exasperating people, making me feel less and less like participating. I come home and my mom wonders why I eat ("because I get hungry?"), and because of her constant reminding me not to eat so much, I'm slowly getting to a point where I'm not eating. Finally, the man I've been in love with for the past four years has decided that I'm not worth his time, and is chasing my friend, only ever noticing me when she's not around; it hurts more when he shows true concern over my problems, but that doesn't change the fact that he doesn't love me back. I snap at people and am often bitter and cold about everything, and my parents keep wondering why I'm acting the way I am.

The Humble Apology

"I never realized my prejudice, or how often I found myself superior when I said I didn't. Jesus said 'love your brother', but when I say that, 'I don't want to be your brother, but I'll be your neighbor', He said 'love your neighbors as yourself'. When I decide that I don't want to be your brother or your neighbor, but instead your enemy, Jesus said 'love your enemies'. I never thought I had made enemies, but apparently, my skin color, my class, my sex and even my sexuality have made me the enemy. I never hated blacks, but I always thought they were stuck in the past, saying that they aren't equal to whites, when in fact they are; I never realized just how often they really are victimized by people who still hold a grudge, who still elevate themselves to God-like levels which they abuse by attacking those with darker skin. I come from a privileged family, and never thought I looked down on people poorer than me, often finding that their company was more real than the fat cats driving Cadillacs around me; I never knew that I did in fact stick my nose up at the people who had gambled, drank and used away their money to end up on the streets. I hated when people tried to force feminism down my throat, claiming we aren't equal to men- we've been receiving the same pay since 1964 for goodness sake!- but I never realized that it wasn't just a greedy money issue or a work place dispute; I never realized that it was the woman asking why her husband couldn't love her enough to help her raise three kids in the suburbs, or the woman who is cat called when walking through a neighborhood she can't afford to leave, or the young black girl who dreams to be a doctor, but doesn't have the money to make it to the right schools, nor the acceptance to be able to pursue that dream. I used to think that the Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender movement was obnoxious, like a glaring neon light in the middle of the night, that people were trying to be rebellious, and attack people like me who have heterosexual attractions. I didn't realize that my stance with my beliefs was so aggressive that those who would be considered my enemy thought that I couldn't possibly love or accept them. Perhaps I don't agree, but even Jesus says to them 'I love you so much'. If the One who let himself he tortured to death for me can love people the world doesn't often accept, then why shouldn't I? ..................... I also never realized just how much good there still is in the world. We're all looking for angels, but never do we look them in the face and realize it. The man hosting peace talks in a mansion that should cost millions but is giving them away from free; the lady orginising day camps for kids whose parents have to work to keep them fed and treats them as her own children, feeding them and loving them; the homeless man who comes to you for dinner, but in turn speaks life into you, and reminds you why you can keep breathing every day instead of lying down and breathing your last for fear your life will mean nothing in the end; the new family who invites you into their home because all they want to do is love people, and show them how to love others. .................. To those I have discriminated against: I am sorry. To those I have called my enemy: I love you. To those who have shown me grace and mercy: thank you.

How Dare You?

Braveheart growled. "Why do you keep denying me? You treat me like s____; it's no wonder Eagleswoop doesn't love you!" he spat. Riftsight laid her ears back and tears stung her eyes. "How dare you treat me like this?! For saying you love me so much, you sure don't talk to me like it!" she snarled, claws itching dangerously to strike him. "Well, I'm sure I'm not wrong. Last I checked, you're still his second best." said Braveheart. She lashed her tail, and with a swift motion, swiped his cheek just under his eye, forcing a wail out of him. "Even if I was tempted to want you before, you've now ensured that I will NEVER love you!" As she turned away, her ice blue and golden yellow eyes glowed. "I hope you die alone, Brave." // A dramatized version of a conversation I had with a friend of mine, who has "loved" me since he met me, but I haven't ever liked. He told me that it's "no wonder" I'm not loved by the guy I've been smitten with for the last three-and-a-half years, and that I'm still "his second best", which is something I have said hurt me before. I just went camping with him over the weekend, and he brought it up again. He's lucky I'm not truly a violent person, because I came so close to throat punching him for that.

You Should Be Scared of Me

"I'm meaner than my demons, and bigger than these bones. And all the kids cried out 'Please stop; you're scaring me!' I can't help this awful energy. StarClan d___ right, you should be scared of me!" Kingfish after killing the first Wendigo gang cat. I'm so proud of this! I found a new method to make it look more professional than the last one. :P It's not as bloody as the original scene, but for two reasons: one- it would be hard to tell it was Kingfish, given he would be solid red; two- I thought it would be too much gore. Plus, it would take away from all the work I spent on it. XD *Frisking dang it! I forgot his scar again. XD

I Should Have Hated It...

"She betrayed me. The only she-cat I ever loved, the one I thought I would father kits with, the very female who gave my life meaning, took it all away- ripped the thing that made my life important to shreds. I went back to my den that night, and shared some intimacy with her.... And just before we could conclude the evening, I slashed her throat. I watched her bleed out. I watched her eyes fill with panic and anguish. She lay still. Dead at my feet. The only cat I'd ever loved. I should have hated myself for killing her. I should have hated the blood on my face. I should have hated it. But instead.... I loved it." |||| A little glimpse int o Kingfish's backstory. It will all get explained in better detail later. Also, the first time he's not supposed to have a scar on his mouth. :3

Respect

"My head collided with the wall behind me. Of all the cuts I had received, this one hurt the worst. 'I know you're used to having power, Vladimir,' said Imran. 'But here, in my gang, you show me the UTMOST respect!' For having recently lost his other leg, he was still just as strong. 'I gave you the position I did because you saved my life after that attack, but I didn't give it to you so you could push me out. Now, I hope that wound reminds you what happens when you forget who's in charge.' I touched my lip, and with a pit in my stomach, I realized that he had left a cut in my lip that sliced all the way through to my teeth. He turned away with a chuff, and left me bleeding on the ground. I spat the blood out of my mouth, and shakily stood up, limping back to my den." /// This takes place after the previous picture, before Kingfish joins NightClan. It also happens after an attack that loses Threelegs' his front left leg. I'll elaborate that story later. Oh! A side note: the reason Threelegs' stump looks so old is because a) I thought it would be too graphic to draw a freshly severed limb, and b) Based on the fact that Threelegs survives the attack, I had to figure out what a cat would look like after such an attack with no veterinary help.

The Affair pt 1

I stepped out into the snowy alley, breathing in the cold air. feathers of white snow drifted down silently, and the usual activity of monsters was almost completely dead, aside from the occasional, quiet one roaming the street. The sweet scent of a she-cat touched my senses and I turned around to look in the direction of the smell. Blue stepped from the shadows. "I was worried you weren't coming." said the Russian she-cat. She was a breath-taking creature; a slender Russian Blue with an unusual buff marking on her face and chest. Her fur was slightly thicker than usual due to the winter cold. I approached her, purring with a smile. "I never break a date." I said. "Being late, though, is nothing i can help." She cuddled her head under my chin before drawing her silken frame across my throat as she walked on. I playfully nipped her tail. "So," she mewed. "What kept you away so long?" "You're mate." I growled with a smile. "Imran was talking about the attack again, and wanted to get a patrol together to start looking for them again." Blue rolled her eyes. "He still hasn't let that go?" she groaned. I looked to the sky. "It's only been a few weeks since the attack; he wants to be sure that he doesn't get killed in his sleep. I organized a patrol anyway; though I told them I wouldn't lead it, so Boris took over." She purred and stepped closer. "So, Imran's asleep?" I nodded. "Da, ma'am, he is." "Good." she purred, planting a tender kiss on my mouth. "I would hate for him to worry about me being out this late. Besides, you just got your promotion; that would be a tragedy if you were suddenly exiled for running off with the leader's mate." I smiled. "If you're quiet, I doubt any such thing will happen." I hummed, before tackling her to the snowy ground, laughing as I kissed her cheek./// Hey! Look at that! A Kingfish-centered picture that isn't covered in blood! XD So, in case anyone doesn't know, Threelegs' (Imran) mate is Blue; this story takes place right before "Respect", which is the image before last. She was pregnant again,this time with my kits. Blue looked at me. "I have to tell him, Vladimir." she said. No, she couldn't. If Imran found out, I was dead for sure. "Niet," I said. "Pazhalusta, just give this a little more time before you say anything; we can come up with something to cover this up." Blue shook her head. "We can't keep lying, my love." She sighed. "I'll wait a few days to tell him; that should give you enough time to disappear." she said. --- The drink was working. Once Blue had started ailing from morning sickness, I gave her a drink of antifreeze- a poison I was well acquainted with from my days with the Wendigos. Soon, the clan grew alarmed as she began vomiting blood- internal bleeding caused by the drink. As I continued to slip her more antifreeze, she grew weaker and weaker.--- "D___ it, Vladimir, I told you to get out of here!" spat Blue as we walked down the alley. Imran had commanded me earlier to take her for a walk; the fresh air might be good for her. We were far outside the normal territory, hoping to have a moment to talk more privately. I rolled my eyes. "Pazhalusta, love, if I was concerned, I would be gone already." "And why aren't you afraid?" she growled. "My mate is one of the most powerful gang bosses in the city! If you don't get out of here,he'll kill you. I'm telling him tonight when we get home. And if you're not gone by then, you'll be lucky he doesn't castra-" Before she could continue, I turned around and sank my teeth into her throat, silencing her. She gasped hoarsely and pushed on my face, trying to shove me away. Her paws scraped on the icy ground, scratching away bits of the frost. I bit down harder until I heard the thick lining of her throat burst, and soon, her beautiful blue eyes glazed over. I let go, and once again, the alley was silent. She and the kits she carried were dead. --- Oh, please, you didn't honestly think I loved her? Blue was just a means of intimacy, a satisfaction of my underlying desire to be loved. It's all lust. Besides, if I truly wanted a mate, I wouldn't take someone as unfaithful as her. And the kits? It was a necessary sacrifice; if I allowed them to live, it would destroy Imran, and get me killed. Everything works out for a greater purpose. /// Yup. Plot twist. Blue didn't actually die of illness. :3 So, who else is afraid of Kingfish? My ears pricked as Mac chased me down. "Mac, we can't travel together; if Imran finds us both-" "Th-they-they're dead, Price." said the Irish tom. My head jolted up. "Who? Who's dead?" He looked at me. "The-the whole gang. Imran and his gang... rolled through and... They killed 'em all." My eyes widened and I brushed past him. No... no, no, no, no, no, Shallow was still in the gang! I hared around the alleys until I came upon the camp. Mac hadn't been kidding. I searched that whole camp. I couldn't find her anywhere. "Shallow?" I called. No answer. "Shallow, my dear, where are you?" I found her. She was lying on her side, her blue eyes glazed white. There were deep bite marks in her hips and her head; someone was restraining her. And there was one long slash across her throat. "Sh-Shallow...?" I mewed, gently touching her shoulder. "S-sis...?" My throat clenched my vocal chords like a vice. "No, this isn't okay... You can't let Imran beat us like this, he...." Tears flooded my eyes and I finally gave way to bitter sobs, burying my face in her bloody neck. "Don't leave me yet..." I wailed. "Please, I don't have anyone else... I've already lost Dusty and Dove, I can't...." I took in a sharp breath. "How can I live without you?" // D: Poor Pricey!

I Loathe Disloyalty

"Be careful, Devilspawn; I don't like cats who betray me." I growled in her ear shortly before she slapped my face with her tail. I would have nipped it to feel the fur between my teeth, if I wasn't so angry at her. Bones. I didn't see that tom as much of a threat; simply someone else I had to ignore every time I spoke. But she was getting too close to him for my comfort. It made my insides scream: his yellow eyes roaming her body, the way he smiled at her, and they way she welcomed it from him... She never did that with me. And yet I had shown more respect for her than he did! My claws unsheathed. I couldn't kill Bones; he wouldn't be an easy kill, and with a bruised lung and injured rib, I didn't stand too much of a chance. And I couldn't kill her... No, I just couldn't. But I wasn't going to stand for this. I had to do something. // A scene from the roleplay.

Herz adoption

Hey everyone! So, I'm going to be adopting out a few characters as I don't use some of them as often as I'd like. I don't want to just list them up for adoption in the guest book in case they get deleted. So! First character up is Herz. Herz is a German, female Siberian. The name, gender and appearance must stay the same! Her personality, otherwise, can be changed. Just as a heads up, though, she was captured by Kingfish, thus that may affect her behaviour. When someone says they'll adopt her, I'll put her up for adoption in the guest book, and you can adopt her from there.

Labrat

COMING SOON! Labrat will come in along with a new group of characters of mine, all of whom came from a testing facility. Labrat, in particular, had electricity tested on his brain using wires to see if it would enhance his senses. Having copper wires fire electric shocks into his brain on a daily basis, it seemed that his sense of hearing, touch, and taste became more sensitive, but the tests caused him to go blind in his right eye, and his sense of smell is reasonably minimal. He is also goes spontaneously numb in random patches on his body, resulting in uncontrollable tremors in those places. His fur is not as messy as I wanted it, but it looked so good, I couldn't bring myself to change it. XD I will have sketches of other upcoming characters soon.

Downfall of the King

I turned around suddenly and slashed across Price's face. My back arched while the slightly older tom fell. I was panting from the run, but the adrenaline in my veins urged me on. "... Goodbye, Captain." I growled as I towered over Price. I felt teeth sink into my back leg and I yowled. Furious, I looked back as Foxflight continued to gnaw on my leg. With a single well-aimed kick, Fox fell over the edge, claws scratching at the roof top. "No... NO!" Foxflight wailed, and fell. Price didn't see it, but as he fell, he hit the stairs on the way, and then there was a thud as he hit the pavement. I huffed. Now that that rat-spawn was gone, I could continue my work My ears laid back when I heard Price moving behind me, something else moving with him- not part of his body, it sounded too hard. I looked back; before I could react, Price had me pinned with my head just hanging over the edge of the roof. I looked down at the long fall where Foxflight now laid, and my heart beat desperately in my throat. My claws ripped at his face and I hissed loudly, though words weren't coming out. I had to get free. A cable wound around my neck. S____.... S___!!!!! I couldn't pry him off me, and the black cable squeezed tighter; the vein along my throat pulsed hard against it. I began to panic, slashing harder at Price, though missing every blow as his head weaved around while he continued to wind the cord. "No... Price, wait..." I breathed, chest heaving in terrified breaths, futile with the noose choking me. Price looked down at me. "Goodbye, Vladimir." I screamed in horror as Price jumped with him off the roof. We missed the stairs, and all I saw as I continued to plummet was the snarling face of my life-time enemy. It was a terrifying sound. A sickening sound. Nothing I had ever heard before. The sound of the cord snapping tight, and the bones in my spine separating. --- Price lurched and collided with the cold ground. He shook out his ears and looked up. legs jerked and kicked painfully, a hissing noise coming from his mouth, and his nerves detached. His cold blue and green eyes looked upward towards StarClan, a place he may or may never see, as his pupils dilated. Price's Farewell

Price saw soft beams of silver light flood his eyes. He looked around and the air smelled different. Where was he? "Long time no see, Price." He turned and there, he saw Crossbuck, standing there and watching him with a smile. Price pelted to him and headbutted his shoulder with a purr. "What are you doing here?" Crossbuck ruffled the fur on his friend's head. "I'm here to walk ya in, sir." Price laid his ears back. "... What about your son?" "He'll get along fine. Spindle and I are both very independent; I doubt he'll have troubles." The tan tom took one look off the edge of StarClan, and touched his nose to the apprentice's ear. "Goodbye, Malardpaw. Become a strong warrior we can all be proud of." With one last lap on the young tom's head, Price turned back, and together, he and Crossbuck walked into the ranks of StarClan.

Character Theories: Related?

Are Kingfish and Riftsight related? Riftsight and Kingfish bear the same colors on their pelt (save Kingfish's black markings and Rift's pale chest marking), and both have heterochromia iridum, oddly enough with a similar ice blue eye. Riftsight is a carrier for the tabby genetic, and so does Kingfish (evident by Mamelukefang's tabby markings, and Kingfish's handful of tabby-striped kits and grandkits). Could Riftsight possibly have been the daughter of Kingfish's sister Dohlefang? Is Riftsight Dohlefang? Or was Riftsight perhaps a half sister? -------------- ANSWER: No! :D Becasue there's a few problems: 1. Rift talked about her parents raising her in MC her whole life; she was never in the city like Kingfish was. 2. She can't be Dholefang becasue Dhole was a dark ginger with a black tail and only green eyes; she can't be the daughter of Dholefang because that would make Riftsight at most an apprentice when Kingfish was a warrior. 3. Manikintail was Kingfish's son, and Riftsight and Manikintail had a kit: Mameluke, which would be GROSS!!! So, yeah, no, theory disproved. :3 Why did I go through all the trouble? Because for a while I was wondering if I should do a grand reveal that Riftsight was a long lost sister of Kingfish, but as her story wove on, I realized that it wouldn't work, at least not in a healthy way.

Cat Poses

Took a quick moment to draw cat poses. First row: 1, 2, 3; Second row: 4, 5, 6, Third row: 7 & 8. First steps are in red, second are in blue, and black is the final outline. 1: A sitting pose. Notice that front paws are together. Also note that red base circles are like snow man parts- head is smallest, shoulders are medium in size, and the hips are the largest. 2: A leaping pose. Neck, back and tail are aligned in a gently curving line. Front legs may be posed differently, but back legs are usually mirroring each other. 3: A prancing pose. I generally use this for a character being flirtatious or sassy. Tail tip is generally pointed upward, and at least three paws are off the ground. Pads on far/away side of character show on the paws. 4: A general walking pose. Opposing paws (front left, back right, or vise versa) are touching ground; if front paw is landing (like in this picture), the opposing back paw is lifting. 5: Arching. A pose of fear, the tail is bushed and either tucked or jut pointing down, and the back makes a high arc. Fur on shoulders and height of spine should be bristled. Paws are together, but for a more defensive rather than scared pose, widen the stance. 6: Fighting pose. What isn't shown here is that the cat is gripping another cat for a strike. The outward-extended paw would be holding an attacker, while the upraised paw would be coming down for a swat. Since this is a defensive pose, to make an offensive pose, stand the cat on his heels, rather than allowing him to rest on them like the cat in this figure. 7: A lumbering walk (front view). Shoulders are dramatically sloped, the higher shoulder attached to a grounded foot. The lower shoulder is connected to a paw being moved. One his is shown, and the him showing should be on the same side as the lower shoulder; tail placement is optional. 8: Rear view. Mostly straight forward, the hips should be very large, while the head should be much smaller to show angle. Remember to show the ribs and belly between the definition of the hips and the shoulders; it adds to the figure.

Cat Paws

1. A normal front paw pose. Start by drawing a circle for the paw; draw a slightly curved line through the middle of it, as you will need it later. Then, draw a gently curved line just in front of the middle line extending upward. At the farthest edge of the circle opposite the previous line you drew, draw a line with a greatly obtuse check-mark shape, extending it upward and away from the other line; this will create the wrist joint. Then, begin drawing the toes. Order is shown by color: blue first, green second, and yellow third. Note that toes are not round, nor square, but somewhere in between. Also note that toes are drawn from right to left, or outermost toe to inner most toe. 2: A normal back leg. Similar to the #1 example, the back leg has the same divided circle for the paw, but the leg structure is done with a single line to show basic shape. Once again, follow the color guide to draw the toes. Note that the heel (blue edge) has a sharp bend, while the ankle (yellow edge) is a soft curve. Also note that only three toes show in this position. 3. Front view standing paw. Basic structure is similar to the #1 example, but the middle line is straight in the center rather than curved. Follow the color guide for the toes again, this time noting that the middle line is traced over first, then the two center toes, and finally the two outer toes. Also, in the color sketch, a dewclaw was added in yellow; the dewclaw should not be very big, unless the cat is polydactyl. 4. A front view back leg. Similar to Example #2, a line shows structure, plus there is now a circle added at the first bend to show where the knee is. In color sketch, the thigh and knee are drawn first (blue), then the heel and ankle (green), and finally the paw as shown in the past examples (yellow). Note that the definition in the knee is not connected to the tight outline, but is slightly broken, caressing the red knee joint sketch (barely visible). 5. Unsheathed claws. Same as #3, but there should be two middle lines. Also, note that the weight is leaning outward on the paw, adding a more defined wrist curve and forcing the inside of the wrist to almost parallel the outside wrist. In the color sketch, the two middle toes are pulled apart, being two circles connected by one dome-shaped arc at the bottom (blue). The two outer toes are almost touching the center toes, but the innermost toe should have a slight separation (green). Then, add the claws, the tendons (lines above the toes) and the dew claw; note that the dew claw is hooked and more visible. Finally, when doing the last details, add small lines around the base of the claws; those are the sheaths. 6. Walking or outstretched paw. Start by making a line that has two angles in it; if you compare it to your index finger, the lower end (toes) should parallel your third knuckle, the tarsals, your second knuckle, and the wrist, your first knuckle. I added three circles to show where the wrist joint and two toes will be. In the color sketch, I drew the center toe, tarsals and wrist first (blue), then the definition of the smaller toe (green), and then the pad portion and wrist (yellow). In the final sketch I added a dew claw, but without the dew claw, this sketch could be used to show the outside of the leg. NOTE: sketch 6 is more of a canine structure than feline. While most of the exercise is anatomically correct, I was simply asked to show how I myself draw paws; I used no references for my art, and thus, paw #6 is slightly less accurate than the rest.

Create a Character (FREE TO USE!!!)

Okay, so, just as of yesterday, I've discovered a new way to create a complex character without having to research a bunch of things. For this, you may want to refer to a Personality Test so you can create your character's personality. Start with the usual: name, sex, appearance. Next, use the personality test and answer the questions in the way you think your character might- for this example, I'll use Penguinflight. The resulting personality I got was an ISFJ-A personality, which is a feeler personality, which is quite different from me (which I did on purpose). Once you'd completed the test, list what is unique about your character: are they social, but prefer certain company? Do they apply to most of the personality traits, but are more head than heart? Are they warmer than others with their personality? Etc. Next is character controversies. Penguinflight hates to lie, and believes the truth must be told, even if it might be painful, but he will tell white lies like they're truths, because there's no need to chance hurting someone over something insignificant, right? After that, we have weaknesses. This can be anything from the character controversy, to their phobias. Strengths are what the character is best at; in Penguin's case, it's his ability to tell blunt truths *laughs at irony*. Social level: is your character introverted or extroverted? How much so? Refer to the test for this. Voice type: what kind of voice do they have? Is it deep or high? Accent? Any speach impediments? Stature: Are they tall or short? Strong stance (straight legs, strong frame) or weak stance (bow legged or bent knees/elbows,sloped or weak frame)? Stress position: where does your character carry their stress? If they're a more assertive personality, stress is typically held in the shoulders, upper back and sides of the neck; for defensive or submissive characters, stress is carried in the lower back, hips and flanks. Dominant eye: a dominant eye has the best sight, and for normal eyes, it is just slightly better than the other eye (for example, 20/20 in the right, 30/20 in the left). Determine this in the categories under "Dominant Eye". Dominant leg: Front Leg- this is like asking if they're right handed or left handed. Which paw do they favor more? Back Leg- this is the leg with which they best balance them selves. Usually the same as dominant front leg, but can be different. Dominant ear: out of which ear do they hear best? That's their dominant. Most sensitive to: this is what your character flinches to most easily. Do loud sounds bother them? Do they not like touch, or are they better at feeling things that most others might miss? Do bright lights hinder them? Are they picky eaters because of taste? Are they bothered by certain smells? Nervous habits: if your character gets anxious about something, or is in a stressful situation, what do they do? Do they twitch? Do they anxiously groom themselves? Maybe they sharpen their claws on anything they can reach. So! There you go! Feel free to use this page to make new characters; it was made in paint, so hopefully no one with have an issue with it.

Making a Cat

I made a few characteristics that people might want to look at when creating a cat. First are muzzles: in order from left to right are the common muzzle, the Roman muzzle, the flat muzzle, and the up-turned muzzle. Roman noses are more common in Oriental Short Hairs, and flat muzzles are common in most European breeds. Ears: left to right are common ear, Noble or lynx-tipped ear, cub ear (similar to big cats), and the folded ear. All of them are pretty self explanatory, although cub ears are not as common in domesticated cats as they are big cats. Chins: left to right- normal, stubble, bearded, flat/sharp chin. These are all dependent on the creator's taste. Personally, I use normal chins for female characters or young characters, the stubble chin for adult males, the bearded chin for elders or long hair toms, and the flat or sharp chin for petite females.

Making a Cat Part II

Face shape. In order from left to right- pentagonal face, square face, circular face, and triangular face. I typically use the pentagon face for long hairs or fuller-faced cats. The square is mostly for kitty pets as it has a rounder, softer appearance. The circular face I use for most shot haired cats, and the triangular face is for characters with higher cheek bones or longer muzzles, such as Sphinx or Orientals. Eye shape: Oval, circular, angular, and titled. The oval shape is the most common eye shape; not much to explain. The rounded eye is more common in European breeds or cats with larger eyes such as Sphinx or Singapura. the Angular eye shape is the one I most often use for evil characters are cats who have a constant glare. The tilted eye is a more seductive shape, and I most often use this shape for female cats, especially black ones. Brows: common, shaped, spotted and defined. Common brows are slightly fuzzy towards the front, giving it more texture. I use shaped brows for my more attractive characters, much like filled in brows you would see on L'Oreal models (XD). Spotted brows are a fun variation, and I often use to give a little spice to my designs so not all of my cats look the same. The define brow, finally, is a more realistic style of brown, since real cats don't have eye brows. I usually use them in my realistic and stylized drawings.

It is Well with My Soul...? (VENT)

Sinfur is my subject this time. I'm having a hard time right now with my anxiety. After an incident with my friend (which I believe I've mentioned before), I have had little trust in male figures. While I'm not phobic, I find myself having more panic attacks than before. Just the other day, I had a young man, just slightly older than me, flirt with me and my friend at work, calling me a "rare woman" and saying "I have his attention". He found out when I work, and said he would see me then. Yes, perhaps it's harmless, and he's just coming during a public hour to talk to me, but I feel unsafe. I told one of my managers, and her response was to ignore it; it's "no big deal". And now parents, especially my dad, hate that I blame my fear of this on the fact that my friend was raped. True, it didn't happen to me, and yes, it was a year ago, but I haven't healed yet, and no one is taking my worries seriously. I'm terrified, and no one seems to be on my side. Lately I've been listening to the song "Even If" my MercyMe, one of the lines being "This hurt can go away if you just say the word, but even if you don't, it is well with my soul." I'm trying to be relaxed, and I want to believe that all is well with my soul, but getting the advice to wait until something happens makes my soul uneasy. I don't want to wait to be stalked, harassed, or even raped because no one is listening.

I searched for EVER to find out what kind of cat Fedar would be. I almost made him a Turkish Angora, but then realized, "Oh no! Angoras have long fur! But Kingfish is short-haired.... What do I do?" So after about an hour or so of searching through a database of cat breeds, I found the Khao Manee: all white with a running line of hetero chromia. So, it was perfect! :)

I FIGURED OUT HOW TO MAKE BRIGHT GLOW ON THE EYES!!!!!! :D :D :D :D I'm super proud of the lighting in this, and the angles make me happy. ^-^ But the subject however, does not make me happy.

Eye tutorial

Taking a break from LLtK for a little bit; y'all need something a little less tragic, right? :P So, the order this goes in is left side top to bottom, and then the last three on the right top to bottom. 1: the sketch. Pretty straight forward; draw an eye. 2: color it in. Again, simple; I'm using blue because it's very dramatic. 3: Shadow. Take your airbrush tool, change the hardness to the softest option, and lower it to about 35-40% opacity and use a darkened version of the eye color you used. For example, I used an azure eye color, and a sapphire color for shade. Take multiple strokes to create a gradient of shade across the top of the eye. After about three strokes, make a stroke down about where you will put the pupil eventually. Continue the gradient until your at your ideal shade. 4: lighting. Now, use a lighter version on your eye color and up the airbrush opacity to 50-60%. draw across the bottom of the eye until at the ideal shade. In addition, lighten the color further, and turn down the brush opacity to about 25%. From there, draw small lines around the shaded area around the pupil shaded area; this makes the wrinkles present in real irises and gives the eye depth. 5: Add the pupil; I suggest using the hardest brush type for this, as it looks best. 6: Shine. The first step is to use the circular select tool, putting its edge along the apex of the curve of the eye. From there, use your soft brush setting airbrush, and lighten the opacity to about 35-50%. Then, brush long the edge of the selection, gradually moving in towards the center until you get the ideal shade. Then, put the airbrush back onto the hardest brush setting without changing the opacity and make circles in the iris portion of the eye; make a long streak through about half of the pupil out towards the iris for additional shine. 7: Glow. From the eye color you used, brighten it slightly by either moving up the color scale or just to the brightest hue if you used a darker eye color, and on another layer, use the soft brush to create a soft blob of color over the eye. Then, go to your layers tab; there should be a small option towards the top of the window that says "Mode". In the modes, select the "soft Light" mode. That creates a brighter eye, usually best used in lighter settings (minimal shade); if your character's eyes are glowing in the dark, use the "Hard Light" mode, which puts the glow around the outside of the eye as well. I suggest lightening the opacity of the layer in that circumstance, as it can look too solid.

Mameluke resisted the will to pass out. His heart was pounding so hard, he could feel it in his temples and ears. He looked down at Rosenettle and grinned softly. "And you know what?" he said. "I want that, too. I want to spend forever with you, just staring at the stars; just the two of us existing together." He rest his cheek on her head. "... You're a beautiful soul, Rosenettle." he hummed before gently kissing the top of her head. He cuddled against her. "Well, I soppise we start the forever part, don't we?" he mewed. "I know lovers spend forever together, especially when they commit to mateship..." Rosenettle looked towards him in how he said the bold word to what she thought of. " M-Mateship.. Yeah.. It sounds like such as big, bold word for the soft and cuddliy feelings I have.. " Her tail flinched as she thought of the bigger picture, nervous at what to do. " w-when... When did we want to have kits? I mean.. I l-love you.. but I'm scared that maybe this is a little fast.." He laid his ears back. "We don't have to move fast." he said softly. Here are physical descriptions of each: Pyreglow- named after her mother, she has blazing ginger fur broken up by pale muzzle and cheeks, belly, tail, and three paws, the fourth of which is black like the winding stripes on her back and neck. Like her mother, she had emerald green eyes. ///// Flickersight- a vibrant ginger she-cat with swirling, thick black tabby stripes and a ringed black-and-buff tail. Her azure eyes are surrounded in buff and black, and she had tribe-like spot markings running vertically down her forehead, alternating from buff to black. /////// Timberlion- Timber lion is a ginger tom with fading black dorsal markings and a buff underside and muzzle. He bares black bands on each ankle and wrist, similar to his grandfather. He has hetero chromia, though an unusual mix of two shades of green rather than strikingly opposing colours.

Love Lost

"Devilspawn?" I called as I walked through the halls of the Fear Place. When the twolegs' attack wasn't enough, there was a pack of dogs that followed then the place was suddenly abandoned. Devil had run off to save two of our kits whom had disappeared in the Fear Place. I paced the halls. It all stunk of twolegs, and dogs, and chemicals, and blood. "Devil?" I called again. The aroma of blood clung heavy to the air, and I began to frantically search the rooms. "____..." I swore under my breath. I swore again when I still couldn't find anything.... Except for a tuft of white fur. It was Devilspawn's. "Devilspawn?" I called, my voice starting to pitch. My heart stopped. At the back of the dog room, I saw her. She was lying on her side, her beautiful frame breathlessly still. "No...." I whispered as I ran over. "No, no..." I rolled her face towards me. Her red eyes almost looked like a dusty rose, opaque white sheets forming a thick film over them. Somehow, she looked like she was just vaguely smiling, and I almost thought she was smiling at me. "Devilspawn? Baby, come on, hold on..." Tears stung my eyes. "Please, hold on... Hold on, my love..." No matter how hard I fought and denied it, I knew she was gone. It was... Scary. She was still warm. I wrapped her in my arms, holding her to my chest. "It's okay, baby... It's okay." The silence hurt worse than any of the emotional blows she had ever dealt me. I pressed my face into her neck, and let the tears fall into her fur. I couldn't believe she was gone... // Took me FOREVER to get this thing uploaded, but yay! It's here! :D

Introducing: Tsar

Tsar will be a new character introduced in the next chapter of Long Live the King. He's a lavender sphynx with pale yellow eyes. Leader of the Wendigos, one of the largest gangs in the city. He has two claw marks on his back left leg, and four claw marks on his under belly. Tsar also walks with a strange limp, like he can't control his front legs very well, and his head flicks, especially when he's stressed. You'll find out why eventually. ;)

XD I'm trying a new technique for the comic: drawing all of the panels in full scale images and shrinking them down for the page. IT'S BAAAAACK!!! :D So, a couple things about this page: 1. these frames were so much fin to make! It's nice to have a full view of what's happening, rather than having to make a teeny tiny image for each panel. 2. I used different colours of shadows for each character, which only varies a little bit, since all of them have shades of blue for their shadows. 3. Claudia's eyes look violet, but they are, in fact, green, while the she-cat beside her has violet eyes. 4. Kingley's muscles are HAWT. XD And, 5. the tan tabby she-cat needs a name! Happy *early* New Years! This was my gift for Chaos, and her characters Tweakleap and Marshsong. I love these two! They're absolutely adorable siblings! Btw, I made my own snowflake brush just for this picture. :D Just wanna say, also: The sahding on the eyes took SO MUCH EXPERIMENTING! I couldn't decide what I wanted, and finally after blending colours, I got the shade I wanted. XD Hope you like it!
