Enzio nodded once, his gaze traveling to Fencerunner to give her one last hard look before jogging back to camp. [EcC Camp]

Fencerunner watched as Enzio exited, thinking she could breathe once he left. But surprisingly, the air only became thicker once Delano and Fencerunner were left alone. His tone surprised her when he spoke and she lifted her swollen paw tenderly. "Oh- there was a fight on the MoonClan border. A few apprentices got . . . carried away," she said, dipping her head as she looked at the teeth marks. She couldn't remember which cat had marked her- probably Vermillionpaw. Or was it Summerpaw? She only barely remembered the cat's names, the way their faces contorted when they fell at her claws more shocking than anything. Fencerunner had to remind herself to give time to think about it- it was a warrior's duty to die. They were warned. And they attacked anyway. "I'm hiding from Tigerstar, so she doesn't find out until she goes back home. I didn't want to start a fight in EclipseClan territory so soon after the last," she said, looking up shyly at the tom across from her.

Bourbon's ears perked when he heard Brandy's soft footsteps and he opened his eyes, gazing at her. "Atleast I'm still here to bother you." He joked slightly. "What are we going to do now?" Is she actually sober? This is a treat.

"I'm pretty sure Tigerstar is gone by now. The deputy of Eclipseclan can't be hiding out in the territory, especially with a bum paw. Unless there was something else you needed to talk about.." The tall russet colored tom got to his paws after resting for a bit. "As you can tell it's been a...difficult night. The situation is starting to weigh on me, I'm tired."

Fencerunner acquiesced easily, feeling Delano would appreciate the time to process whatever had just happened between Clarisse, Politoes, and Enzio. She didn't know exactly what had transpired, but she hypothesized she would be able to put together the pieces later- after everyone had rested. She was exhausted herself, having been woken up by Politoes. She pondered the significance of his comment. EclipseClan's deputy- don't remind me, but ultimately left it- if it was a jab, it was a well-earned one. It was a pretty dumb idea to be out by herself, injured. But at least her main opponent, Death Rattle, was dead. It gave her an odd amount of comfort. "I can understand that. I-um," she said awkwardly into the silence, "I know a shortcut," the tabby said, turning to walk past Delano and against the fence that was there, nosing aside a loose board to enter. It was awkward, being alone with him, but the pull of medical care and her nest was stronger than any urge she had to work things out with a former partner of a one-night stand. (If Delano's done, we can poof)

Delano followed to the loose board but gently nudged her forward so he could stay behind her as they walked back to the camp. He could sense the tension in the air between them, but honestly he was too tired to really care. What did plague is mind, however, was how they would move forward from this. Fencerunner had very readily proclaimed that she wanted to be a part of their lives, and he had never known her to be a liar unlike his ex, but something inside him still told him to keep her at arms length. He didn't know if it was his gut, which he always followed, or if it was his newly acquired trust-issues. They would just have to see. (Yep, Poof em to EcC Camp)

The two cats disappeared into the hole in the fence, leaving the alley in favor of a twoleg's yard, and from there, to the camp. Fencerunner was well aware of how he stayed behind her the entire time, as if avoiding a conversation. She lowered her head- I'd be too tired for one anyway. (EcC Camp)

A growl rumbled in Brandy's throat as Bourbon attempted to lighten the mood with a joke. Do I look like I'm in the ___ mood for jokes? "Doesn't matter anymore." She replied gruffly, her tail grazing the filthy floor of the bar to express her distaste. Already riled up by the tom's lack of acknowledgement towards their predicament, Brandy began to rant, "Look at how we're living, Bourbon- with less than half a gang in an empty, useless bar- our business is better off dead. What the __ happened, Bourbon? Tell me- tell me ___ how."
--Roleplay anyone? Must you have a cup of tea before we start? Ah, very well then.

(sorry fam, gotta cut this roleplay short, spark) Meeting with Bourbon's doe-eyed expression to her furious ramble, Brandy gave a disapproving scoff, "Like you'd know anything- you're too busy prancing around with our clients. A ___ leader of a clan, even! The __ is wrong with you, Bourbon?" She abruptly stood up from her hunched position and stormed out of the bar, her tail whirring behind her madly. "__ my life!"

Fencerunner noted with a frown that the sun was already falling out of the sky, setting in the next few hours. She had slept a long time, but now that she'd finally caught up on her sleep schedule she knew she would be up all night. No matter- nighttime training was just as important. The she-cat stretched her legs, glad her paw was healing and she could run again. She cast a glance at Oshun, his light brown pelt and light stripes catching the light. "Tell me what you've learned so far," Fencerunner said, trying to guage what he had been taught in her absence.

Fencerunner shook her head, a soft chuckle, "I remember always hating that question- let's try again. What do you want to learn? What are you good at? Patrolling? Scavenging? Hunting? Do you like to run or fight?" she looked at Oshun, the two cats making good ground as they marched off towards the center of the territory.

Oshun flicked his ears, trying to pay attention to her questions but also the space around him. His dad always told him to stay alert, especially since they lived in the city. "He basically taught us offensive battle moves, since none of us are too bulky. I'm not really that interested in hunting..food is pratically given to us." He shrugged lightly.

Fencerunner nodded, listening- for once. She was usually on the offensive in battle as well, her light frame and speed making quick and clever claws her secret weapon. She smiled mentally at the image of Delano training his son, then a pang of grief came that she wasn't there with him. "We all need to know how to feed ourselves," she warned, "but, being bad at fighting will kill you faster than starving to death. Attack me, Oshun. Any way you'd like," she hoped Delano hadn't been too good at it.

Since Fencerunner had been walking ahead of the apprentice, Oshun shot forward and nipped her tail before she had even finished her sentence. He then let out a chuckle as he lifted his head. "Nah, I'm just kiddin'. But dad said to always catch your opponent off guard."

Fencerunner wrenched her tail out of Oshun's grip, bringing it to her nose to see a section of the fur missing from its underside. She flashed squinted eyes at Oshun, feigning that she was upset with him before she let laughter erupt. "I'll say! Your dad certainly knows what he's talking about- though I can't say I've ever actually seen him fight before," she said, hiding the sting. She'd had worse. She struggled to remember if Delano had ever come to an actual Fence Club meeting, and then pondered to ask him if he would help her oversee the duels Hollowstar had given her permission to organize. "That was good, but next time, keep up the ferocity! Don't stop just because your opponent screams," she said, turning to face her apprentice, "yank me towards you, and once I'm there, aim a swipe at my legs- but that's neither here nor there," she paused, "Let's try again- but put you on the defensive," Fencerunner tossed herself at Oshun right on the sidewalk, aiming a claws-sheathed blow for his shoulder. The cats were about the same size despite Oshun's youth.

Once the training session had completed itself and come to a natural conclusion, Fencerunner grinned like a madmen. She led the way back to camp through endless twists and turns of twolegplace, the she-cat showing off just a fraction of what she knew of the city. (EcC Camp)

Member Posts: 3643 | Blazingpaw rounded the corner in a hurry as he tried to get out of sight of anyone watching from camp. He felt satisfaction as he thought he'd slipped away unnoticed so he could have an adventure on his own. His green eyes wandered down the busy street before him before slipping into a dead end alley.

Flowingpaw's gray-cream buff coat blended surprisingly well with the winter streets of the city. Everything about her was nonchalant. She didn't care who saw her, what she did, where she went. She was just going, and that was the beauty of Flowingpaw. She didn't know where she was headed, and by all accounts she didn't care. But she chose to follow Blazingpaw today- because she was curious about where he was going. After a few minutes of distance and clandestine paws, she quickened her pace and cleared her throat from behind his shoulder. "Headed somewhere?"

Member Posts: 3643 | Blazingpaw paused as a familiar scent wafted to his nose, he glance behind him, scanning the entrance to the alley. He shrugged, she could follow if she wanted to. He was headed toward the end of the alley when Flowingpaw spoke up."Well, wouldn't you like to know?" he replied, casting a single glance at her before continuing toward the chain-link fence.

Flowingpaw was agitated that her brother didn't pay her more attention, but nevertheless didn't relent in her pursuits. Casting her tail in waving agitation behind her, she thrust her head forward into his peripheral vision, "What are you doing out by yourself?" she said in an accusatory sing-song voice, "Mother will be angry . . ." (would you like to imply hollow and flowing's relationship?)
