A week and some change ago we voted to keep EarthClan and add a new clan to the website. While this new clan won’t be able to actually come together until we have EarthClan moved into DawnClan’s territory, we should start planning for the new clan now so we know what they want to be when they are formed. This blog entry is designated to specific in-game events, so if you want to share your ideas on what this new clan should be in terms of personality and name, check out the New Clans Planning. A poll regarding what the new clan's name should be can be found here.
No specific events have been agreed upon for the overall plot, only the general arc that EarthClan will be pushed into DawnClan’s old territory before a final battle occurs and MoonClan, SunClan, and the rebels will abandon their attempts to destroy EarthClan. Why exactly this shift in goal will happen hasn’t been decided, though there is discussion that an eclipse could be interpreted as a sign of StarClan’s disapproval.
So, here are a points we need to address:
- How and when should we move EarthClan solely into DawnClan’s former territory?
- How should we proceed in-game with creating the new clan?
- Why will MoonClan and SunClan give up on returning EarthClan to NightClan and DawnClan, and will an eclipse somehow be involved?

Ok, here's some ideas I'be had that could possibly answer those questions.
1 we could have one battle take place before the forming of the new clan that results in Earthclan fleeing to Dawnclans former territory, and one final battle to convince the other clans to leave Earthclan alone.
2 After the battle that pushes Earthclan into Dawnclans former territory, we could have a cat (whoever you decide will lead the new clan) to set up a camp in Nightclans territory and gather enough followers to create a clan like structure. We could have Moonclan and Sunclan convince them to fight in the final battle against Earthclan so that...
3 In the final battle with Earthclan, we could have it look like Earthclan is going to loose, but then when all hope seems lost, an Eclipse happens! Some cats could interpret this as a bad omen, and some cats could interpret this as a sign that the new clan is meant to be named Eclipse/ Skyclan. It would work for either name because it's an eclipse for Eclipseclan, or because it's in the Sky for Skyclan. As for other names, I have no idea, but I'm sure there's something. Anyways, we could have the cats argue until they just decide that both interpretations are right. That means that our "why would Moonclan, Sunclan, and the new clan leave them alone" problem, and our "how will the new clan be named problem."

I'd say for how to get Earthclan into Dawnclan territory is by: a another battle, before the final, occurs and Sunclan or Moonclan will destroy Earthclan camp entirely, barriers and every den, steal all the prey and herbs, and leave Earthclan no choice other than to flee.
Spirit, I like your plan, but I think it needs a little bit more set-up.
Perhaps we can take advantage of EarthClan's small size and have them struggle to keep track of their territory over the next few weeks, possibly by having the NightClan rebels regularly invading the city portion of their territory, while EarthClan can't put up the cats to keep them out while dealing with other threats from MC, SC, and maybe even loners along EC's eastern and southernmost borders?
We could also tie in Litten's idea by having EarthClan overextend themselves such that MoonClan is able to successfully attack the camp and destroy the camp. After that happens, EarthClan will regroup and decide to fall back into DawnClan's territory only, which will be a much more manageable size. To make sure they choose that half instead of the EarthClan one, we could have the NightClan rebels promise to stop harassing them if they abandon their city holdings?

What if when Sunclan and Moonclan attack the camp the rebels are attacking the city? We could have a good amount of Warriors defending the city, and a few defending the camp. That would result in both parties of Warriors losing due to being outnumbered.
I was thinking maybe having a battle, have Moonclan and Sunclan manage to reclaim the Burnt Forest for Sunclan, pushing all of Earthclan into Dawnclan territory and then having the rebels invade Nightclan territory, claiming it for themselves. I do see flaws in this idea though, seeing as Earthclan could easily fight and defeat the rebels due to having a much larger number of members, so the rebels would need more members before this idea could work...
We could have a battle take place in EC camp and in the middle of it the eclipse occurs and everyone flees back to their camps and EC goes to the Dawnclan camp and everyone is too afraid to return to EC camp\territory because they thinks it's a bad omen but then the new clan rises and takes over the old EC camp because they have a cat who knows about the eclipse.
Well if you've read Hawkwing's journey, we could do something like that. A new clan shows up wanting to live amongst the other clans
Maybe Sky/Eclipse Clan should have more than one leader, which is an area the rebels seem to be weakest in (at least in terms of ambition). Maybe they could even replace the position of the leader with a full council, which I don't expect to be permanent of course. It would be easier to push the idea of forming a new clan forward with more than one cat making the decision.
Perhaps we should have discourse in MC and SC so cats from those clans have reason to stock up the numbers of the new clan?
I kind of like Brokefang's idea about having a clan-like group show up, it could help the rebels, but they could fall under the Rebel's structure since they are more adapted to the city. Tagging on to this, though, like Lunar suggested we could have something happen to add some MC/SC cats to the new Clan. Though I don't know how many would go.
I also like the idea of MC/SC taking back the Burnt Woods which would successfully split the territory in half and give the rebels the time to take over the city. SunClan and MoonClan at this point could decide that the message has been sent to EarthClan that a single Clan cannot rule two territories at once and call a cease fire as long as the leaders and deputies all agree. Which means they could have a meeting at Hawk's Tree to discuss terms? But this could also be done when the new clan is formed, that way all the clans are on the same page.

Spirit, the last battle was so hectic and difficult to manage, I think we should keep with the final battle happening in one place.
I agree that we should have The Burnt Woods be returned to SunClan to finalize their loss of territory and camp change.
Stag, I don't actually think that that idea has too many flaws. Sure, the rebels are smaller in number, but at that point EarthClan would already be split and two and it makes much more sense for them to put all of their forces into protecting the territory they can access, rather than risking everything for more territory than they need or really can reasonably maintain.
Shadow, it seems like they will have already abandoned their camp by the time that the eclipse occurs, so we have at least two battles happening instead of just the one.
Broken, unlike in the canon series we don't have any extra clans floating around, so we're limited to the groups of cats that already exist in this roleplay. As well, I don't think everyone will want to make their characters at once, so having the clan start with rebels and having new characters trickle in naturally seems like a better option than trying to have a whole bunch of new characters suddenly arrive.
Ripple, I'm not sure that would work too well. The current council and head warrior systems haven't been very active and I've been thinking of dissolving them. As well, it would be easier to solidify clan identity with one cat at the helm and the NightClan rebels opposed changes the clan structure and the status quo, so they're unlikely to want to mess with it once they get their territory back. Instead, we could address the problem of forming a new clan by having MC and SC support this decision, as well as having the rest of NightClan behind it.
Lunar, maybe MC and SC could struggle with finding a new goal, or otherwise with their clan identity somehow? This could be aided by StarClan's apparent disapproval, especially for MC where they put so much stock in being the clan closest to StarClan.
Mocking, maybe instead of meeting at Hawk's Tree, we could have them travel to the Moonstone with their medicine cats (if we want to keep the religious importance of their mission in mind) or just have them negotiate at the battle site itself. If the NightClan rebels aid in the attack, everyone of importance will already be there.

so when do you think the next battle will take place? I want to make sure I'll be able to be on, so I thought I'd ask so I can check my calendar.

Just for clarification with myself, when we say 'Clan Identity', we mean cats that are having troubles in their clans and aren't sure they want to be a part of that clan anymore? Because if we are talking about changing an entire Clan's identity just because of this (i.e. MoonClan not being as close to StarClan) then I'm not so sure how that would work.
As for creating the New Clan, I can see cats from all clans being unhappy from way the battle worked out or other reasons, and will join the new clan. Like Clan Identity, if it is the way with a cat's crisis with their clan identity.

Spirit, it's hard to say. Probably at least two weeks out, hopefully not more than a month and a half. It'll be sooner if we can figure out what we want to do, though, so we can start executing it.

That is, some clanmates feel that they're growing too far away from StarClan, while others are afraid of returning to a Weepingstar-like era and stress the importance of instilling the values of courage and loyalty in their cats, regardless of their belief in StarClan. Shifts like that occur fairly frequently and will give us an in to the clan without having to dramatically change alliances or anything like that, just cause some intraclan-drama.

Well StoneStory is mainly just miffed it wasn't him. He feels cheated.
ReichStag (and the general consensus of the cats who don't like him but don't hate him either) don't really like the new choice because they feel StallionHeart has no presence- no effect or reputation.
