Plot Planning

Posted by Ember on September 29, 2017 at 10:40 PM

Hi guys!

Recently there’s been some talk of deviating from our original plan to move EarthClan into DawnClan’s former territory and EclipseClan’s formation as outlined on the Planned Events Section of the History Page, toward a more peaceful route.

Either way, I think the most important thing is that whichever way we want to go, we should start actually heading that direction. The plot has been disappointingly stagnant lately, and we could risk losing all momentum with this plot if we don’t act fast.

I'm fine with what ever, I just thought it might be a possible solution.

So what I had done -
In the EarthClan Territory, the cats found that they couldn't get rid of the mother and kit just with the small amount of each clan, so in an attempt to save life and injury, Mossystar went after the kit to make the cougar run off. Mossystar told Eclipse about being ready at the Gathering, thinking that the large amount of cats would be enough to run the cougar out, and is willing to risk his life to lead the cougar to the group. He is sending Jaycall back to SunClan to tell Desoaltestar of the plan, and then is going to send one of his warriors to EarthClan to tell Foxstar of the plan.

Wait, does this mean that the cats attending the gathering will be fighting? Isn't the night of the gathering supposed to be a night of peace and specifically no fighting? I like your idea though.

Thanks for the summary, Pallet!

Spirit, my thought was that since the clans would be united against an outside force that they believe to be sanctioned by StarClan, they might still consider it ultimately peaceful. Be sure to check out the new gathering blog entry if you haven't yet.

Hey, yall, us kool kidz (stag, pallet,me) have a plan for moonclan. When MossyStar dies StoneStory is going to go to the moonstone himself. He wont get lives but he'll pretend he did. What do you guys think of StoneStory returning to camp declaring himself leader, and the rest of the clan taking sides until a duel is declared?

Who's planned to win the duel? Do you have any idea for how this will work time-line wise, or when it'll get kicked off? (Mossystar, dying?)

StallionHeart will win, so as not to disrupt the current chain of command. This'll just happen whenever mossystar dies, either that be from old age or sickness/injuries

Okay, sounds good! Mossystar is set to retire in December and could reasonably die of old age at any point around then, so that gives us some breathing room to have the new clans settle in before we complicate things with that MoonClan plot.

A few members and I have discussed a plot that could be entered into the one that is currently going. We have offically named it The Deliverance and have thought through almost all of it. Basically what The Deliverance is, is a group of cats who believe that the clans are weak. Right now we have about 12 members currently in on the idea.

We wanted to see if anyone would like to push the plot forward, right now the cats are just meeting up at different spots, but eventually that will change. There could be two ways that this plot could go:
1: It completely fails and the cats who are in it are exiled or killed
2: A new rogue 'group' could be formed an take over the Loner forest as territory.

What do you think about it?

And the group contains evil cats from each of the clans, as well as blood thirsty loners. The group for the sake of trying to be new and different is a council not a clan. I agree with the out comes personally. Either fail miserably or become their own group.

I'm going to veto adding another group permanently, since EarthClan and EclipseClan are just now getting their bearings and we don't have enough members to justify a fifth group.

So, that leaves it to fail, and the question is how. I don't think we need to plan the details now, but we can start integrating the group into the overall plot. Which characters are involved and what is their goal? How many characters know about it, excluding the actual members? Do they have any particular feelings regarding clan politics we can take advantage of?

As it is currently headed right now, Mossystar will be dying this weekend after taking Stallionheart to the moonstone.

Cool, sounds good.

Also, another question for the members who know what's happening with the Deliverance plot: what thread is this primarily taking place in?

From now on, it is going to mostly be on the Loner Forest thread since that is their new meeting place.

Okay, and for my earlier questions: Which characters are involved and what is their goal? How many characters know about it, excluding the actual members? Do they have any particular feelings regarding clan politics we can take advantage of?

I don't mean to be pushy, but I've been trying to come up with a way to integrate them into the plot and have been hitting a bit of a brick wall since I don't really understand who/what they are.

So far, Tickpelt and Littlepaw (Redflare) Thundersong, Bearstride, Blackstreak, and Shadowblaze (Duskfur) Bloodstone and Chasewind (Grenada) Hoshi and Hawkpaw (Lakeripple) Absinth (Spirit) Uno and Nightmarehowl (Soul) and I have Rivertwist. I'm pretty sure that's all of them. And I don't think any other characters know about it. They believe that all the leaders are weak for wanting peace and want to destroy their rule and take over the clans.

Don't worry about it, we're happy to answer your questions :)

Side note, they don't and won't have a medicine cat. So there is a weakness that could be taken advantage of

How do they feel about the leaders/clans individually? Or the deputies or other notable members? Stonestory?

What have they accomplished so far?

Ooh, thanks for the detail, Duskfur! Do they believe in StarClan?

(Also, suggestions for how to integrate this are very welcome. I don't want to monopolize this conversation.)

I think they all have different feelings about the clans and leaders, they haven't really discussed it that much, they've mainly been working on initiation stuff. But I know that they don't work as a whole yet, they barely know each other, and Rivertwist isn't sold on the idea, so maybe she could change her mind and turn on them?

Okay, cool, so we've got a good bit of wiggle room. Before you guys get too invested in this plot, I'd like to remind everyone of the rule regarding loners as "throw-away characters." That is, no cat outside of the clans should be played for significant amounts of time or appear frequently in the roleplay. If this plot does grow large (which seems likely, judging by the number of members involved and that we don't really have anything else to do right now), the cats involved should be predominantly from the clans.
