Plot Planning

Posted by Ember on May 28, 2017 at 8:55 PM

Hi guys!  If you haven’t yet, please check out the last Plot Planning Page and the History Page, which was updated on the 25th.

As Ripple pointed out on the EarthClan Camp thread, there seem to be a whole bunch of disconnected side plots going on right now. Ideally, we can talk here about how to wind some of those side plots together to aid the overall plot.

As well, we need to decide what to do about the meeting between MoonClan and SunClan scheduled to take place in 14 in-game days. This doesn’t necessarily need to be 14 out-of-game days.

Actually, you have a point there.. especially with Eclipse. She wouldn't hide, she'd probably just barge her way into the clearing. Oh, and one more question, would the individual rebel groups that have banded together have a cat representing them as leader? Like to stand with the other clan leaders?

I don't know what's been happening with the NightClan rebels, but no one seems to even be roleplaying theie DawnClan rebels. I've had Antvenom look for the others for a while, but the Loner Forest thread has been silent.

No worries, real life always comes first and the fact that the rebel plot isn't taking off as planned isn't anyone's fault.

I just updated the history page, if you guys could check that out and make sure I didn't mess anything up, that would be great!

As well, have there been any arranged mateships yet? I can help organize them, if you guys don't want to handle them with PMs yourselves. Here are the characters people volunteered earlier:
Grackleflight (F/NC)
Rustfeather (F/NC)
Tidepaw (M/DC)
Silverpool (F/NC)

Blazingpaw (F/NC)
Speckledstream (F/DC)
Envypaw (F/NC)

Trouble is, we have mostly she-cats volunteered (the "F") as well as a majority of NightClanners. Do you guys have any DawnClan toms you'd like to volunteer?

The only NC and DC toms I have are already planned to have mates except for Greystorm. He's DC but I didn't think he should have a mate because he's a killer. Though, I wouldn't mind him having kits to carry on his line, he just wouldn't ever really care about his mate or kits. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hauntingdreams is my only EC(DC) character but I am willing to have him available for arranged mateship. That'd help me rp him more.

The only thing I found in the new section is maybe a missed word "SunClan?s camp where a long and bloody followed. "

I have Stone-Echo of sunclan up for mateship. He's a stubborn manly tom, who not only is a huge flirt but doesn't know how to treat "the one." Outside of that, I have no other cats open.

Shadowtail, the mateship are between NC/DC EarthClan cats to try and strength the bond between the two clans

Hey, sorry to change the subject but I was thinking quite a bit about the upcoming battle with Moonclan and Sunclan against Earthclan. If Earthclan is supposed to win despite them being outnumbered then they would have to come up with some kind of strategy to win. I had some help from my brother and dad and decided on something. Just having the knowledge alone won't help Earthclan win the battle. So instead of just waiting for it to happen, I think they should lead Moonclan and Sunclan into territory both clans are unfamiliar with, the old Nightclan and Dawnclan territories. They could have some ambushes there waiting for them and they could use their knowledge of the territories to their advantage. I'm not sure how well that would work though, since rebels will help in the battle, but that was the best I could come up with. Unless maybe they could somehow separate the rebels from the rest of the clans that is. Anyway, this was just an idea. And since it was one of mine it mostly has more flaws, but, I just wanted to know what y'all thought.

Oooh! That could work! And considering queens kits medicine cats and already injured cats, not all of Moonclan Sunclan and Earthclan can fight. Plus not all of them have to fight. Some could decide they don't want to, or just don't think that it's worth it.

Gingerheart, the arranged mateships don?t have to end up going well. Maybe we could pair him up with Rustfeather?
Mockingdeath, do you think we could pair Haunting up with Grackleflight.

Having EarthClan use their knowledge to prepare for the battle sounds like an interesting plan, Gingerheart, but I?m not sure about the details you?re suggesting. Can you list out the plan, step by step, if you have one?
Silver, I don?t think warriors generally have the option of whether or not to fight. It might be a banishing offense to decide not to attack after a leader has ordered it.

We can try getting Rustfeather with Greystorm. As for my idea, I haven't really thought much on the details other than Earthclan somehow leading Sunclan and MoonClan into one of the old territories. I honestly think the city would be the best place for them to set up the ambush. With all the different scents that are found in a city, it could confuse the SunClan and MoonClan cats and make it hard for them to track EarthClan. Also, there are a lot of good places to hide for the ambush with all the buildings and stuff. But, besides all that I haven't thought much about it step by step. I'll need some more time to think if that's alright. Any ideas you guys have would certainly help me. :)

For cats not fighting, Desolatestar would definitely chase them out.

For the Plan: I like the idea of leading them into NightClan's city. The only issue would be the NightClan rebels and their previous knowledge about that territory because they could always brief the attacking parties about the scents and different places. The scents, though, would confuse the forest and plain dwelling cats so they would probably have the rebels take the lead on that one, or that's at least what Desolate would do. She's pretty calculating Perhaps a sickness or animal attack could injure more MC and SC cats to shrink the attacking numbers? That way it would be more realistic for EarthClan to win.

Ember, yes we could pair them ^^

Well, it is leaf-bare so perhaps some Moonclan and Sunclan cats can fall ill with greencaugh to lower the numbers? As for the rebel problem... I'll have to think more on that.

There's an idea that EarthClan might send a spy into NightClan's rebels, said spy being Threekings (since I sorta started the idea. XD) My thought is to have him offer Eclipse a deal that if she serves as a type of General under him, he'll supply NightClan with some more members, as well as an opportunity to take over parts of the territory until EarthClan either fully submits or it breaks up due to the threat of NightClan, with the catch that he will kill Queenstride, her kits, and Eclipse if they go back on their word or stop advancing on EarthClan. He'll really be more of a double agent than anything because he doesn't like Foxfur (he sees him as weak and irresponsible/too easily distracted with minor or unimportant things), but he also doesn't want to go back to living in a small/normal sized clan; he likes the security in numbers, so he'll try to have both of the groups at his mercy. He doesn't have to succeed, in fact, he may eventually leave NightClan alone when he's sure he has what he wants.

Okay! So just as a checkmark to make sure we can go over what we have planned for the plot -

Arranged mateships will occur between former NC and DC cats to make the bonds of Earthclan stronger as a whole and in the minds of the clanmates.

MC and SC will team up together, as well as receiving help from the rebels to attack Earthclan, but ultimately loosing to them thanks to brief preparation time and strategy from Earthclan's side.

What will occur after this? And I wanted to ask if in the future, would Earthclan make use of the other camps? Similar to stations, so maybe one or two head warriors per camp, as to serve as back ups or reinforcements when another camp is being attacked. Being more spread out might be harder for other clans to handle attacking, especially if the population in Earthclan increases rapidly thanks to the mateships.

Also another sidenote- I have Devilpaw going to be a warrior soon, and she is more occupied with loyalty than with love, so I wouldn't mind having her be paired up with someone. However that is all I have that is available.

I would love for a spontaneous flood to occur forcing the clans to become two clans. Earthclan, will be the same, however that'll force sunclan and moonclan to form a clan in and of itself temporarily. But, I'm not in charge of the plot ^.^ I just like suggesting chaos ideas that are short but affective.
