Isolation Plot Planning

Posted by Ember on May 2, 2016 at 9:05 PM

We can continue the Plot Planning discussion here.

If you haven’t already, be certain to read over the last few pages of the old plot planning thread. As a very brief summary, some plots points being discussed are a potential fire in DawnClan and/or NightClanners contaminating the river, two-legs poisoning rats and causing sickness in NightClan, and how we should use the coming gathering (May 13-15th) to move the clan more towards isolation.

At some point though, shouldn't the younger ones be caught? ( I thought of Lion King 2 with Kovu and Kiara lol )

Yeah, some of the groups should be caught meeting up.

Toxic is right, we shouldn't be focusing on the fire so much. Smaller events will make this plot, so we should keep having cats meet up in secret and causing smaller conflicts.

How would the word spread around to younger cats on this?

They've been doing it all along, by now it's probably accepted that if you manage to slip out of your camp and go to Hawk's Tree, there might be other apprentices hanging out there.

I would, but my younger cats have no intentions because they haven't actually heard anything about this. Okay by the way.

Hm, in that case your apprentices can overhear other apprentices/young warriors talking about it.

Yeah... I should have asked before having Sunkit get to the gathering clearing. He is there now, and he's already in trouble; if he'd have someone come after him, that would likely mean the appretices there would be caught? I know itbwas discussed, but I didn't think about it until after I had Sunkit go there. :( I am so sorry I didn't think of how my having Sunkit going to Hawk's Tree, without checking here first, might affect things... :( I hope that this doesn't cause too much trouble...

Oh, no, we need to be causing trouble. Having those apprentices be caught is great!

Okay :) I just wanted to be sure. I will have to stall with Sunkit, then. We just have to hope someone notices he's missing and follows him. XD

**Idea**
As the days flow by in the clans, something odd begins to happen. Prey is dying on it's own, and not being caused by others. The apprentices are doing less work, complaining about being tired. It's awful. The warriors are picking up more work that the apprentices should be doing, like cleaning the dens and checking the elders for ticks. The freshkill pile's are lowering...and we don't know whats happening.

Hm, maybe two-legs are poisoning the prey supply and the smaller cats are being hit the hardest?

We could have one of the clans that doesn't already know about it, if there is one, find out about the apprentices meeting at Hawk's Tree, however instead of getting the apprentices in trouble immediately, they send in loyal apprentices to spy on them and see what they're discussing, and if they mean any harm to the clans.

Speaking of apprentice gathering spies (Which I support), we could also begin some inter-clan spying soon. There would have to be a catalyst, but something as simple as paranoia could be enough for a leader to try and get a few spies into another clans' ranks.

@Alienfish but how would the apprentices get into the other Clans, since all of the Clans aren't accepting new members? Unless I've misunderstood something?

Also, if we go with this idea, we could start having a group of the spy-apprentices drifting towards the side of the apprentices illegally meeting. They could become kind of double-agents, and spy on the leaders for the meeting apprentices, lying to the leaders and saying that they're just talking about normal stuff and trying to be friends. That could get a bit complicated, though, so going just with the original suggestion would probably be a lot easier and less confusing.

So far the clans have been accepting new people, however they shouldn't be. We can use something to end that entirely, as so far the isolation seems to be limited only to not having medicine cat meetings or gatherings. If one of the spies is discovered early on, the clans could become afraid to accepting any new members.

I've been having Darkstar only accept cats who can prove that they have no safer alternative.

Ah, okay. I was assuming based on Character Updates Page posts. Are any of the other leaders still accepting members without screening them first?

If no new cats are able to join the clans, then I will likely have to remove almost all of my cats. Most were outsiders and just said they'd serve the clans they joined and/or that they had relatives in the clans, which they had no way of proving as much, other than giving lengthy descriptions of their family history and such. Something any cat could likely get if they knew the histories of any given family... I don't want to have to remove the cats I have... :(

I know this probably sounds dumb, but I just was wondering about that...

Cats already in the clan would still be allowed to stay, and I believe that obvious rogues or loners would still be accepted; I believe the cats who would not be welcome are those moving from one clan to another.
