Plot Planning

Posted by Ember on February 28, 2016 at 6:40 PM

Now that the flooding arc has drawn to a close, it’s time to start considering where we want to carry the war from here. MoonClan and NightClan are loosely allied, as are SunClan and DawnClan, but where do we want the source of their next battle to come from?

We can continue to feed off of the assassin plot, possibly, if cats continue to go missing from border patrols and such, or we can start something new, possibly escalated border skirmishes, drama at a gathering, etc.

In the last plot planning page, we considered having apprentices continue meeting at the gathering clearing and eventually being found out by their leaders.

What do y’all think should happen?

Given the emotions that are building in DawnClan it could probably happen sometime soon.

Or, maybe it could happen after SunClan sends in a patrol to ask DawnClan about the open borders policy and Locuststar turns them away?

I support this plot. Is this happening now?

Looks like the voting is happening right about now :)

Borders can open at any time now, however to ensure that the clans move toward isolation, we need to have things go wrong. Apprentices can be attacked by patrols, by foxes or badgers, or start fights in clans they're visiting, all of which should result in different groups pointing blame at each other and moving them toward conflict.

Darkcrest/Yuccathorn/Fabledpaw/Bluegaze/Eonrunner haven't returned from MoonClan yet; what if we had them attacked on their return-voyage by some disgruntled Moonclanners? It wouldn't absolutely stop the plan, but it could be used later as part of the evidence against continuing it.

I think that would be great!

Are there any cats willing to attack them? I think that one-two would be ideal.

Dragonfire can attack them and he can even end up getting killed.

If you do it tomorrow, Beaverscar will gladly do so. As well as Bleedingjay

Nice idea command! Hopefully this plot turns out really interesting and fun! Btw, what is happening with the apprentices at the moment?

Thanks, Shadow. What's happening with the apprentices, at the moment, is that a lot of them are considering moving to other clans, where they can spend more time with their friends. Later, I believe that some apprentices from various clans will begin to congregate in mini-gatherings, unbeknownst to their leaders.

Where are we planning to go from here? I'm not sure if the other clans have been informed of DawnClan's revolt, but I don't believe that would cause any large disagreements. Were we still planning to have a few more hitches in the plan to allow free migration between clans?

Sorry to post twice in a row, but I'm a tad too late to edit my last post.

Seeing as SunClan is chock-full of injured cats, and seeing as Turkeyfeather has not officially returned from the Medicine Cat meeting, and seeing as there is no medicine cat apprentice in SunClan, perhaps SunClan could request that a medicine cat from one of the other clans come to help their wounded? I imagine that NightClan would be the clan of choice for this request, due to the recent altercation with MoonClan and the distance with DawnClan (I don't think SunClan knows about the rebellion yet). If the NightClan medicine cats were to accept, and then, while their medicine cat is gone, some severe injuries occur in NightClan, this might cause NightClan to begin having the idea that helping other clans is hindering their own survival. That could lead to a more isolationist sentiment.

To summarize, since I feel as though that was terribly explicated, here's what I'm suggesting, point by point:

-SunClan, with many injured cats and no medicine cat available, asks NightClan to send a medicine cat to help them.
-NightClan agrees, and a medicine cat goes to help SunClan
-The SunClan cats are healed, but while the medicine cats are gone, a few cats in NightClan become severely injured, possibly even leading to a death which could have bee prevented had the medicine cats been present.
-NightClan begins to decide that helping the other clans hinders their own advancement, and they move further towards isolationism.

That sounds like a good idea. Also, with the badger in the territory right now, more people are being injured.

I don't like the idea of acting like Turkeyfeather isn't there, usually while a character isn't being played because their member isn't online we just act as if their job is being done.

I agree with Ember. It's hard to be on all the time cats are sick or injured, but SunClan does have a medicine cat, and Turkeyfeather shouldn't be characterized as doing a bad job just because Owl can't always be on.

I was under the impression that the meeting was still going on, in some form. My apologies. Does that mean that the cats who have been injured for a while can be considered healed without their healing having been written?

The meeting ended a while ago, some of the medicine cats just didn't post in that thread as actually leaving.
Yes, after a reasonable amount of time has passed they can just have their wounds magically treated. A medicine cat, even if they're online a lot, wouldn't reasonably be able to roleplay through every single injury in their clan.
