Plot Planning

Posted by Ember on September 1, 2015 at 8:10 PM

Clawtail and Dawnswallow have begun killing off opposition by using foxglove seeds and claiming that StarClan is striking down the nonbelievers within their ranks. This will lead to their downfall when Clawtail’s infatuation with Weepingtiger leads her to reveal the plot and pin all responsibility for the deaths, and particularly one involving a cat the clan as a whole was fond of, on her mentor when she catches wind of Dawnswallow’s love for Weepingtiger.

Around this time in MoonClan, Fernwillow and Weepingtiger will come into conflict sparking violence between the moderates and extremists in the camp. In fight, Lashclaw will attack and almost kill Tigerpaw, a strong believer in StarClan, and Pricklekit, who has no faiththis  in StarClan. Lashclaw will be executed for his actions and Weepingtiger will declare that any heresy or rebellion within the camp will result in the same fate. Tigerpaw and Pricklekit will both begin to recover, but Weepingtiger will poison Tigerpaw with deathberries before his recovery sparks doubts within the clan. Pricklekit’s death and Tigerpaw’s survival will be held up as proof of StarClan’s existence and as a way to enforce extreme faith in StarClan throughout MoonClan.

Fernwillow, already upset with Weepingtiger because of their earlier conflict, will become suspicious and confront Weepingtiger. He will tell her the entire truth, expecting her to have the same blind faith in him as her other clanmates. However, she reveals what he did publicly, and forces him to flee to DawnClan.

This will result in both Dawnswallow and Weepingtiger being out of power, and the medicine cat apprentices left with fragmented support among their ranks. In MoonClan, it’s likely that there will be some internal violence between strong believers, possibly led by Clawtail, and non-believers or believers in the traditional clan structure, possibly led by Amberstrike and Geckospots.

DawnClan may be left in a less volatile situation, as they have been more moderate from the beginning. They could agree to step out of the war and return SunClan’s kits, maybe Clawtail could stay in some position of leadership as DawnClan makes a transition back to the traditional structure. However, she might have to step down from the medicine cat position when things have settled, either to being a warrior, leaving the clans, whatever feels the most appropriate.

Between the loss of MoonClan’s allies and their internal conflict, NightClan and SunClan could be able to mount a successful attack on MoonClan to win back the apprentices that had been taken. This would bring the war to an end without ending the plot entirely, new leaderships will need to be established in DawnClan and MoonClan.

So, what do y’all think should happen? I think it would be a good idea for us focus on the internal conflict in MoonClan and decide how we want to begin all of that, and I’d like to hear your opinions on DawnClan’s downfall. The fates of Weepingtiger and Dawnswallow seem pretty much settled, but everything that happens after or as a result of that is still completely up in the air. As well as that, we should decide on what’s going to be happening in SunClan and NightClan through all of this. In the last blog entry there was some support for having a SunClan-centered plot next since they have been on the edges of the main plot for a while, we can begin to set things up for them to be in an important role later on.

Maybe we could have a co-leadership? Instead of head warriors, the MC and DC leaders could return to being leader, but the would rule side-by-side with the medicine cats. Or, my Medicine cat apprentice, Lilypaw, could speak with Fernwillow and cou,d confront Weepingtiger with her? Just an idea, but maybe Weepingtiger could force Lilypaw back to Nightclan.

Storm&Co, if you really want Lotus to be killed, we can probably work it in.
Riversoul, I think it would make the most sense if all of the clans had to go say, north of MoonClan so that none of them are left in their territories. We colud have the SunClan-centered arc after that smaller one, and use it as a transition?
Amberstrike, sounds good :)
Lilywish, I think we should return to the traditional leadership after this, there will be too much distrust in the clans to allow the medicine cats to stay in any sort of leader position. I can?t speak for Weepingtiger, but I don?t think it makes sense from a plot perspective for Lilypaw to be sent back to NightClan at the moment. MoonClan wouldn?t take prisoners just to give them back.

We could use the loners' forest thread, but we might want to expand that one into a few different areas so the thread doesn't become overwhelmingly crowded. With the temporary move we could also have an expanded map of that area, so landmark ideas would be greatly appreciated :)

Okay, so lesson learned today, MoonClan's current heirarchy isn't going to survive public executions over heresy, since simply exiling caused a huge fuss in the ranks. No matter though, I have an idea that could work to give less room for public protest, and it's sort of reminiscent of the beginning of MoonClan's history. So here it is:

Instead of using poison to deal with his enemies like Dawnswallow, he can use assassination. He'd create a rather small and secret group of utterly loyal warriors, and assign them the tasks of "dealing with" the heretics in the clan. They would do it in secret, so no one discovers their existence, by taking the intended target out into the territory alone and "dealing with them". They would simply disappear, until later in the plot their bodies can start showing up maimed and mangled as warnings. The "assassins" would be informed of their targets through some subtle messages sent by Weepingtiger or Eclipsestar.

For this to work I just need a list of warriors who would be completely loyal to Weepingtiger and faithful to StarClan (also willing to kill at his command) and then a list of cats people are willing to have killed off in this manner for speaking out.

Alright, and now for the moving clans plot. I suggest this entire idea likely, as it would be extremely hard to put together and has the ability of complicating future plots. Since the clan would be given a whole new area with its own, unique territory, it shouldn't have to go to waste after the plot is concluded and all the clans move back to their original territories. So, maybe, when the clans plan to return to their territories, a group of cats decide that they don't want to return to the war and bloodshed and would rather live peacefully. They remain in the new territories and form a Tribe. I think we have enough members to keep it active, and it would add something new and lasting to the site. The only problem is how they would fit into the plot after they were established, as having them completely isolated would get boring pretty fast. At the beginning, they could act as sort of an unbiased moderator for the clan, but after that, I have no clue how they would fit in, but it would definitely be new.

Thanks for the landmark ideas, guys!
The assassination plot sounds great. If you?ll take apprentices, I have Floodpaw who would be one of the assassins. Cricketleap could be assassinated.
As cool as having a Tribe would be, I?ve been struggling with keeping the four clan pages, info page, and records updated as is. I don?t think I?d be able to handle a fifth group on top of the current load. As well as that, there?s the difficulty you mentioned with keeping two entirely separate plot lines going at once on the site, I imagine that would be very difficult to coordinate.

I like the flooding idea, and I think we could have a few plots afterwards from the clan boundaries being muddled, like between clan romance and friendship. Could Nightclan, Moonclan, and Dawnclan condemn these actions, while Sunclan decided to act as a safe haven for these cats, hoping to gain more clan members and be a more powerful force? I'd love to see a plot where Sunclan becomes the top dog in the clans, and this could be a way to boost their strength.

[Believe it or not, actually] I can have Pridesoul be one of the 'assassins' and Irisblossom can be assassinated.

MoonClan cats don't exactly sound like the 'assassin' type. How about 'enforcers' or 'private executioners' instead? -And will the same group be formed in DawnClan? I also agree with Ebony on SunClan being the center if the next plot.

Landmarks-
Serpent's Pass- A stretch of forest area that is home to massive amounts of deadly snakes.
Dark Cave- A large open cave, that is a home to bears.
Heaven's Peak- A hill covered in snow, It can be high up in than the other land, so it could be used to do prayers to Starclan and such.
Blue Sky- A large vaste river that has plenty of fish and very pure/clean water. It also has a waterfall and often Two-legs will come here to play

@Ember Apprentices are fine, they'd probably have to go out in groups or pairs anyway to kill the target just to make sure nothing goes wrong x)

@Ripple It sounds really MoonClan-esque if they were to start calling themselves something :) Only all those involved would know the name though, since the group is supposed to be a secret one. Weeping could introduce the idea to the members with that name, it would probably help stroke some of their egos to know they're being chosen as "Enforcers".

@Riversoul It would probably depend on their crimes and who knew about them. Some of the younger ones might be forgiven just for not knowing any better, some could he exiled, and some could be killed. If they murdered for Weeping and it was found out, I doubt they'd get off the hook.

Okay so far Enforcers: Bloodpaw, Floodpaw, and Pridesoul.
Victims: Cricketleap and Irisblossom.
