Plot Planning

Posted by Ember on July 30, 2015 at 12:50 AM

So, where do y’all want to take the plot from here?

I think that it’s about time that we have the medicine cats’ grip over MoonClan and DawnClan begin to crumble and judging from comments on the last plot planning entry I’m not alone in thinking this. How do you think that should go down, or would you prefer if we held off a while before transitioning back to traditional leadership?

Following the last gathering Frozenstar, Quickstar, and Ryestep were discussing attacking MoonClan. Their idea was to attack as quickly as possible and force them to surrender before DawnClan could arrive with back up. We could have something similar to that happen.

@Geckospots and Amberstrike
I have Chillingpaw who would help out with any sort of internal movement, but most of my characters are either in complete support of Weepingtiger, or don't see anything as a major enough problem to rebel yet.

I would prefer that we keep the rebellion centralized within the camp and clans, rather than making a new organization based in a different location. Having something from within will allow more cats to be affiliated with it, since it won't be completely disrupting the way that they're roleplayed.

It's a cool idea, but I think after this we'll want a little period of peace for things to settle down, then should make a less dramatic plot where we don't change the structure of the clans again. We could have something like that happen, but after a while has passed.

I agree, but that sounds like an awesome idea River!

So, I know that we're just about to get out of a super intense plot, and we probably shouldn't go straight into another one, but here's my idea for another plot. Details could be changed:
A mysterious group of cats comes to SunClan, claiming that they are a tribe from far away mountains and are seeking refuge. SunClan accepts them, though are suspicious and keep an eye on them for a while. After a bit, the cats are helping intensely and SunClan lets their guard down against them. Soon, the cats turn out to actually be a group of power hungry loners and rogues from a nearby forest, and take over SunClan, inprisoning most of it's cats ans trying to convince the warriors and apprentices to fight for them, while also raising the kits to believe that they should fight for them as well. With SunClan's territory and camp as their base, they go out to take over the other clans. The other clans are seriously outnumbered and outskilled on their own, forcing them to form alliances to survive.
//Just an idea. I used SunClan because theyre the smallest and probably easiest to take over, but that can be changed,

I had that idea awhile back and no one took any notice to it. :/

It is a bit early to be suggesting plots for after the medicine cats' fall, but I agree that the placement should be in SunClan, or at the very least it should begin in SunClan. They're the only clan that hasn't really had any major, site wide plots centered around, or beginning with, them.

The only difference was mine had a prophecy, the cats were raised to beileve that Dark Forest is superior to Starclan, and there was a long Winter. My prophecy was:
Leaf-Bare has come and is here to stay, unless the Finches can chase the Cowbirds away.

I prefer that we avoid prophecies, they can back us into a corner if something unexpected happens and we have to change things up. As well as that, StarClan has interfered in the lives of the clan very little in the past, it doesn't make sense for them to step in. There isn't a reason we need to have a prophecy to get a plot like that going, so there shouldn't be one.
As well as that, it seems a bit redundant to have a StarClan-centered arc right after this one.

I know that prophecies should be avoided, but I must admit that I like the idea of a prophecy and this future plot.Starclan has interfered very little with the clans, but having rogues take control of Sunclan would create quite a drastic effect, as well as negative, so Starclan would have a reason to step in. And it wouldn't really be Starclan centered, Starclan would only deliver the prophecy as a warning at the beginning, and that would be it.

I mean StarClan involved as in they?re centered around in the clan?s belief in StarClan, not necessarily with StarClan actually stepping in and affecting the plot. In Whotella?s idea, she was suggesting that there be conflict between cats favoring the Dark Forest or Starclan, which to me seems too similar to our current plot where cats are persecuted for not having any or enough belief in StarClan.
On the roleplay, the powers of StarClan are far more limited than they are in the books, I don?t think it?s a stretch to say that here StarClan can?t interfere, because if they could they would have at earlier points. It doesn?t make sense for them to step in when, say, a band of rogues attack if they didn?t step in for even just our current arc with medicine cats leading a charge against the traditional structure of the clan with StarClan used as an excuse for their actions.
The Robinwing prophecy happened about six years ago and while that prophecy went well, the website is in a very different place now than it was back then when being inclusive and flexible wasn?t such an issue simply because we only had four, maybe five active members at a time.

How about we have some cats rebel against weeping tiger and try to fix the clan how it was before

No, the idea of the rebellion has been planned for a while now. It's just starting to get some in rp momentum.
