Plot Planning

Posted by Ember on April 9, 2015 at 9:00 AM

Here is the plot where we left off in the last plot entry. MoonClan and NightClan will continue to clash in a number of small border fights, these will not be officially organized so whenever you feel like starting one, get a few members together and go ahead with it. Be careful with powerplaying and to make sure that you’re putting tensions in the right place. These skirmishes will lead to a battle in which NightClan attacks MoonClan, in the fighting several kits could be injured or killed after being mistaken for young apprentices, or a NightClan warrior could attack MoonClan’s nursery. DawnClan will break their alliance with NightClan on moral grounds and join MoonClan, the two clans will decide to run NightClan out together. In the next gathering this plan will be announced, causing SunClan to join NightClan to preserve the balance of power and avoid creating a dangerous precedent of clans destroying eachother.

This plot is still flexible and can be changed if things begin to feel too forced. To make the changes in alliances more natural, they could be accompanied by a change of leadership in the clans. Toxicstar is already planned to be killed by a NightClan patrol. Burntstar is due to retire in May, Willowsong could be in power during the battle in which the MoonClan kits are injured or killed, and decide to change their alliance. However, this will force us to wait another month to have the battle begin, we could have a MoonClan/NightClan battle on the weekend of the 17th in which MoonClan attacks NightClan, possibly in response to Toxicstar’s death.

Maybe in that battle Frozenstar could also lose a life?..Assuming Ripple agrees and if Frozenstar is going to attend the battle.

Sounds good. Isn't it a bit of a big jump for DC being on NC side to being on MC, wouldn't that show that they dont really keep the allience going once it no longer suits them, and would MC trust them? I dont know, just a random thought.

Okay that does sound like Willow she already has hate for Nightclan since they killed a leader at the gathering. so her breaking it off makes sense to me. and the plan for th battle over toxic's death makes sense I like it :)

Frozenstar could lose a life if Ripple wants her to, I don't think that her losing a single life in this battle would be a big enough plot point to be planned by us.

DawnClan changing alliances so easily doesn't paint them as being particularly loyal, however MoonClan will be looking for a strong ally to back them up. They could see it in DawnClan's favor, as abandoning an ally that they found to be against their morals.

Would Nightclan want to retaliate at Dawnclan after Dc switch sides?

So after the battle ends and Dc switchs side and everything would Nightclan try a retaliation on Dc next?

Possibly, though the main focus will likely remain on MoonClan. NightClan could choose to attack DawnClan, to pressure them to get out of the war.

sounds cool but I doubt willow will allow that to happen.

I don't think Willow could control whether or not NightClan attacks them. DawnClan has both won and lost battles, but they are not known for their skill in battle. Due to their emphasis on maintaining peace, very little time is devoted to practicing for battle. Their strength comes in large part due to how big the clan is.

It would be interesting to see how many battles each clan has won and lost, there have been so many I don't think I can give you a close to accurate number off of the top of my head.

Ooh! Maybe on the next next minthly meow you should do those fun facts on clans xD ok anyways back to the plot......

I was thinking, if Nightclan decided to retaloiate on Dawnclan after Moonclan, would Burntstar lose a life?

Here's an idea: Have a cat who's not in nightclan kill moonclan kits. This way moonclan and dawnclan would hate night clan, but nightclan would not be responsible, leading nightclan to think that the killing of the kits was planned before the battle and would build more distrust and conflict.

I mean Willow won't allow Nightclan to keep dawn clan out of the fighting if they attack Dawnclan

I don't think that it's very likely that a cat could come in and kill or injure the kits without MoonClan catching them before they could do any harm. Even if they were to get that far, their scent wouldn't be of NightClan so the attack wouldn't be pinned on them.

I got two requests to discuss all of the leaders of the clans (strengths, weaknesses, major decisions and events), so I'm planning on doing that for the next MM. I could certainly do something like that later on, though, Venom.

Ah, okay. Yeah, they wouldn't drop out of the fighting, that would bring things out of balance again and make it difficult for the war to continue.

Wait, if Sunclan dropped out of the war, right? Then if Dawnclan backed out, wouldn't it e Nightclan and Moonclan battling it out?

This plot sounds great :D I may be recently new, and don't know how long its been since the last prophecy, but maybe sometime soon we could have another one? I know prophecies aren't suppose to be common, but this is just an idea cx

Just a comment on DawnClan swapping alliances: It makes perfect sense and doesn't really paint them as lacking loyalty. Their alliance has been weakening fairly consistently since Bluestar and Jetstar gave up power, and based on their personalities, they already seem like the two clans least likely to pair with each other. Murdering or even injuring kits during a battle would definitely be a deal breaker, considering that it would follow up the execution of a leader at a Gathering. It seems like NightClan has won Dawnclan over mostly through manipulation, not because NightClan or DawnClan possessed any sense of loyalty to their 'ally'.
