Plot

Here's my idea:

After Rainstar and Hawkstar retire, Lilystar goes to SunClan trying to make peace. Duskstar hears her out and realizes that DawnClan was not responsible for Coldheart's death and agrees to a truce between the two clans. One of them or one of their deputies brings this up in the next gathering, implying that Coldheart was killed by NightClan. NightClan is outraged and MoonClan comes to their defense. DawnClan and SunClan make an alliance hoping to protect themselves as tension grows. Eventually something happens between SunClan/DawnClan and MoonClan/NightClan, starting a battle between the two.

This could bring NightClan and MoonClan into the plot and start the alliance between the two that we thought would be really cool before, plus it would force SunClan and DawnClan to be a major part of the plot, not merely backup for NightClan and MoonClan.  What do you guys think of it?  Have any ideas of your own?

We have a plan for Duskfrost and Lilystream to get their lives one after the other at the Moo.stone and meet for the first time there and stuff. We're trying to plan it out so Hawkstar and Rainstar lose their lives or retire at the same time so they can go to the Moonstone at the same time. The rest sounds good :).

That would work out perfectly if they make peace then, we can have the gathering the following weekend.

This is a really random idea, but I would like there to be a flood. 0.o Since Dawnclan is near the river, they could go to Sunclan for help.

To get Sunclan to turn against Nightclan and blame them, I was thinking that Bloodpath, Masquerade and Moonwhisper could join Sunclan, pin the murder on Nightclan and just ignite hostilities between the two clans. Plus, they need to join a clan so that would be a way to do it.

Another idea - When they find Rainstar's blood on the thunderpath on the Nightclan border, Duskfrost can lead a patrol and question Crimsonstar if he knows anything, adding to the tensions.

It would be better if he didn't talk to Crimsonstar about it, just began to be suspicious of them. He could bring it up over the gathering, implying they were responsible for her death.

For some long term planning after the gathering, Nightclan could feel so insulted by the accusation that they decide to show Sunclan what a war with Nightclan really feels like. But, knowing they can't attack first or they'd lose Moonclan support, Crimsonstar sends a patrol to the Sunclan border with orders to antagonize a Sunclan patrol into attacking. One or more of the cats on the Sunclan patrol could cross the border/ attack the Nightclan patrol and the short skirmish is ended with few injuries. Even so, after the conflict Nightclan can go to Moonclan, heavily exaggerate what provoked the attack and the injuries and try to convince Moonclan that they need to attack now and wipe out Sunclan's morale before a large-scale war breaks out.

This could just be a way to get the fighting to start without a random attack of vengeance igniting it.

Too antagonize Sunclan, if Bloodpath, Masquerade, and Moonwhisper decide to join Sunclan, when the Nightclan and Sunclan patrols meet, the Nightclan patrol cats could say that Sunclan is a traitor for harboring such creatures, and the Sunclan patrol cats can respond by saying as if anybody would believe such monsters like Nightclan, that would give even more reasons for the 2 patrols to attack each other.
