Bandwidth

Posted by Ember on September 5, 2015 at 8:10 PM Comments comments (6)

This past month we have gone over our host’s bandwidth allowance, which puts the website in danger of being deactivated. Bandwidth is the amount of data (text, photos, videos, etc.) that is served to users.

To limit your bandwidth usage, please avoid rapidly refreshing pages as you wait for responses, or flipping between pages more often than necessary. In particular, avoid clicking on art or video pages to refresh the website, as these are much bigger files than text and therefore use more bandwidth. When uploading videos, it’s best to host them externally (through YouTube, for example) and embedding the video into Webs so it doesn’t consume our bandwidth.

Plot Planning

Clawtail and Dawnswallow have begun killing off opposition by using foxglove seeds and claiming that StarClan is striking down the nonbelievers within their ranks. This will lead to their downfall when Clawtail’s infatuation with Weepingtiger leads her to reveal the plot and pin all responsibility for the deaths, and particularly one involving a cat the clan as a whole was fond of, on her mentor when she catches wind of Dawnswallow’s love for Weepingtiger.

Around this time in MoonClan, Fernwillow and Weepingtiger will come into conflict sparking violence between the moderates and extremists in the camp. In fight, Lashclaw will attack and almost kill Tigerpaw, a strong believer in StarClan, and Pricklekit, who has no faiththis  in StarClan. Lashclaw will be executed for his actions and Weepingtiger will declare that any heresy or rebellion within the camp will result in the same fate. Tigerpaw and Pricklekit will both begin to recover, but Weepingtiger will poison Tigerpaw with deathberries before his recovery sparks doubts within the clan. Pricklekit’s death and Tigerpaw’s survival will be held up as proof of StarClan’s existence and as a way to enforce extreme faith in StarClan throughout MoonClan.

Fernwillow, already upset with Weepingtiger because of their earlier conflict, will become suspicious and confront Weepingtiger. He will tell her the entire truth, expecting her to have the same blind faith in him as her other clanmates. However, she reveals what he did publicly, and forces him to flee to DawnClan.

This will result in both Dawnswallow and Weepingtiger being out of power, and the medicine cat apprentices left with fragmented support among their ranks. In MoonClan, it’s likely that there will be some internal violence between strong believers, possibly led by Clawtail, and non-believers or believers in the traditional clan structure, possibly led by Amberstrike and Geckospots.

DawnClan may be left in a less volatile situation, as they have been more moderate from the beginning. They could agree to step out of the war and return SunClan’s kits, maybe Clawtail could stay in some position of leadership as DawnClan makes a transition back to the traditional structure. However, she might have to step down from the medicine cat position when things have settled, either to being a warrior, leaving the clans, whatever feels the most appropriate.

Between the loss of MoonClan’s allies and their internal conflict, NightClan and SunClan could be able to mount a successful attack on MoonClan to win back the apprentices that had been taken. This would bring the war to an end without ending the plot entirely, new leaderships will need to be established in DawnClan and MoonClan.

So, what do y’all think should happen? I think it would be a good idea for us focus on the internal conflict in MoonClan and decide how we want to begin all of that, and I’d like to hear your opinions on DawnClan’s downfall. The fates of Weepingtiger and Dawnswallow seem pretty much settled, but everything that happens after or as a result of that is still completely up in the air. As well as that, we should decide on what’s going to be happening in SunClan and NightClan through all of this. In the last blog entry there was some support for having a SunClan-centered plot next since they have been on the edges of the main plot for a while, we can begin to set things up for them to be in an important role later on.

August Gathering and Medicine Cat Meeting

Posted by Ember on August 6, 2015 at 1:15 AM Comments comments (23)

We’re returning to our normal schedule this month, with the gathering on the second weekend (August 7th-9th) and the medicine cat meeting on the third weekend (August 14th-16th). Around 50 cats should attend the gathering from each clan.  Leaders, make sure that each member with an eligible character in your clan has at least one character attending. The clans will travel to Hawk’s Tree this Friday, the gathering will officially begin Saturday morning and should be called to a close by Sunday evening. The medicine cat meeting will follow this pattern as well.

So, where do y’all want to take the plot from here?

I think that it’s about time that we have the medicine cats’ grip over MoonClan and DawnClan begin to crumble and judging from comments on the last plot planning entry I’m not alone in thinking this. How do you think that should go down, or would you prefer if we held off a while before transitioning back to traditional leadership?

Following the last gathering Frozenstar, Quickstar, and Ryestep were discussing attacking MoonClan. Their idea was to attack as quickly as possible and force them to surrender before DawnClan could arrive with back up. We could have something similar to that happen.

July Gathering, Battle, and Medicine Cat Meeting

Posted by Ember on July 10, 2015 at 8:45 PM Comments comments (16)

Hey guys! So we have a bit of an odd schedule over the next month. This coming weekend (July 10-12th) will be the gathering, to allow the spies to have a little more time to settle in. 40 cats should be attending from each clan, please make sure that each member with an eligible character in that clan has at least one character going.  Leaders or deputies should post which characters will be attending as soon as possible, I’m sorry for the short notice. The gathering will be pushed back a day from our usual schedule, on Saturday the clans will be arriving and socializing, on Sunday the leaders will discuss, and the gathering should be brought to a close and the clans returning to their homes by Monday evening.

The following weekend (July 17-18th), assuming everything runs according to schedule) with be the battle we have planned on the plot planning blog entry, instead of a medicine cat meeting. If you haven’t been keeping current with the plot planning, please read through that soon so you know what will be going on. The medicine cat meeting will be taking place the following weekend, July 24-25th).

Plot Planning

Posted by Ember on June 5, 2015 at 1:15 PM Comments comments (88)

This upcoming weekend (Friday the 5th to Sunday the 7th) we have a battle scheduled, MoonClan and DawnClan will band together to carry out their first attack on NightClan, who will go to SunClan for support. The battle will be long with no clear winner, MoonClan and DawnClan will withdraw with the excuse that they have weakened NightClan enough to be able to return when their own strength has returned and destroy the clan, NightClan will claim that they were forced to flee.'

In the last plot planning blog entry Storm&Co suggested a new arc involving the leaders being overthrown that gathered quite a bit of enthusiasm. Angel and I have been throwing ideas back and forth for a bit and decided that it would be best if the current sickness plot lead directly to this, rather than ending this arc, waiting a bit, and beginning that one.

Following the battle taking place this weekend, the sickness will spread rapidly through MoonClan and DawnClan. Many more cats will fall ill, especially among those wounded in the battle. MoonClan and DawnClan leadership will begin to weaken and their clan’s criticism of them rise following a number of mistakes, openly beginning to break under stress, or perhaps saying or doing something perceived as cowardly, such as abandoning their commitment to destroying NightClan. What exactly this is should be planned for larger mistakes, but for smaller mistakes it will be up to the leaders themselves how they want their own leaders to begin to fall.

Weepingtiger will discover a plant that can be used to treat the disease and grows only in the thickest sections of DawnClan and MoonClan’s territories. He will share this knowledge with DawnClan’s medicine cats, but they will keep it secret from their enemy clans and point to the recovery of their warriors as being StarClan’s favor to their clans, and, most importantly, their medicine cats. This will place the medicine cats in a favored position among these clans, particularly in contrast to the seemingly weak leaders. Jaystar and Willowstar will make the mistake of attacking NightClan again when their warriors are still recovering, against Weepingtiger and Leorio’s public advice to wait. This will be a devastating battle for them.

Weepingtiger will capitalize on this situation to gather the support of his clan to run out or kill Jaystar, claiming to have received a prophecy from StarClan telling him to do so. His clan will support him and the new clan structure and values he proposes. The new leadership will be similar in structure to a tribe, with a combined leader and medicine cat position. To compensate for the fewer number of cats in charge that this would cause, there could be two medicine cat apprentices at a time, the medicine cat/leader would choose who would be their successor and they’d be a deputy medicine cat, or whatever title we decide to give them. They would take a very direct and important position in managing the clan, including giving periodic talks to the apprentices and warriors of the clan about StarClan and their code. These leader medicine cats will advocate for a closeness with StarClan and mandate that all clan cats worship them. They will be strict with the warrior code, even minor infractions will result in severe punishments. Stress will be placed on the birth of new kits, to strengthen their clan, as well as on apprentices and warriors spending a greater portion of their time serving the clan. Their modified code would include changes such as a rule specifying medicine cats not being allowed to have kits, that a clan cannot overthrow their leader unless both medicine cat apprentices agree and receive a sign from StarClan, that the warriors do not need to come to the aid of others, even enemy kits, because loyalty to their own clans is their greatest duty, the clans may chase out other clans who do not believe in StarClan—things like that. This new code will need to be drafted, ideas for rules to be added are greatly appreciated. The leader medicine cats will be appointed by the website owner as they will be in an even higher position of power than the current leaders.

Under this new structure, MoonClan will attack NightClan again and be more successful, or be able to successfully defeat a NightClan attack. While this will have more to do with the sickness having being eradicated from their clan while it remains strong in NightClan, Weepingtiger will pin their victory on StarClan’s approval, prompting DawnClan to fall to this new system of leadership as well.

All of this new arc is still up in the air, of course. This plan can be changed, it is just what Angel and I came up with for larger plot points, with ideas of my own to transition through these bigger plot points. It will be one of the more dramatic plots that we have had on the website, and will require a large commitment from all members to work correctly. After the plot has run its course, the new leadership will fall again and the clans will return to their traditional structure.

Medicine Cat Rule Change

Posted by Ember on June 4, 2015 at 10:05 PM Comments comments (3)

A new rule is being added to the roleplay: A member may have one leader, deputy, medicine cat, or medicine cat apprentice at a time.

Those with both a medicine cat or medicine cat apprentice and a leader or deputy have one month to have one removed from their The procedure for creating characters in these high ranking positions will remain the same: any member who has not broken any major rules and has been active on the website for over two weeks may, granted they do not have a deputy or leader, have one medicine cat or medicine cat apprentice.  Deputy and leader positions will be given by the website owner.

This rule is being added in response to the website becoming larger and the role of the medicine cats becoming more important in the politics of the clans, with regular medicine cat meetings.  It will open high positions to more memberes, particularly less experianced roleplayers who are less likely to be considered for deputy and leader positions.  This will put 16 members in high ranking positions at once, with half of those going to whoever grabs the position first.

May Battle and Gathering

Posted by Ember on May 5, 2015 at 10:50 PM Comments comments (20)

In the coming weeks we have a battle, a gathering, and a medicine cat meeting planned right on top of each other. The gathering and medicine cat meetings have been pushed back a week, so we don’t have to force a battle and a gathering into the same weekend.

The battle will be this upcoming weekend (8th-11th), involving MoonClan, DawnClan, and NightClan. NightClan, with DawnClan’s support, will be attacking MoonClan. In the fighting the nursery and/or medicine cat den will be attacked by NightClanners, injuring the MoonClan queens, kits, and possibly medicine cat or medicine cat apprentice. MoonClan will be able to defend themselves and force NightClan to call a retreat. The disease should be contained in NightClan at this point, we could have a case or two in DawnClan, but they should not recognize it as anything of note (we will be in leaf-fall at this point, when greencough and whatnot begins to go around more).

The gathering will be the following weekend, beginning on the fifteenth. During the gathering, MoonClan will discuss the recent battle, speaking about how their queens/kits/medicine cats were attacked and revealing their intention to drive out NightClan. DawnClan will announce their shift in alliances from NightClan to MoonClan on moral grounds, MoonClan will accept their help and pressure SunClan to do the same. SunClan will back up NightClan, wanting to promote stability between the clans. Following this gathering, the disease will quickly spread through the remaining clans. Each clan will be taking 40 cats to the gathering. Leaders, please have this posted below by the Wednesday before the gathering.

On the weekend of the 22nd-24th, the medicine cats will meet again. By this time, the disease will be running rampant through all of the clans, but no successful treatment or cure will have been found. During this meeting, there should be a lot of bickering, the cooperation will begin later on when it becomes clear that they need to work together to find a way to stop it.

Plot Planning

Posted by Ember on April 9, 2015 at 9:00 AM Comments comments (88)

Here is the plot where we left off in the last plot entry. MoonClan and NightClan will continue to clash in a number of small border fights, these will not be officially organized so whenever you feel like starting one, get a few members together and go ahead with it. Be careful with powerplaying and to make sure that you’re putting tensions in the right place. These skirmishes will lead to a battle in which NightClan attacks MoonClan, in the fighting several kits could be injured or killed after being mistaken for young apprentices, or a NightClan warrior could attack MoonClan’s nursery. DawnClan will break their alliance with NightClan on moral grounds and join MoonClan, the two clans will decide to run NightClan out together. In the next gathering this plan will be announced, causing SunClan to join NightClan to preserve the balance of power and avoid creating a dangerous precedent of clans destroying eachother.

This plot is still flexible and can be changed if things begin to feel too forced. To make the changes in alliances more natural, they could be accompanied by a change of leadership in the clans. Toxicstar is already planned to be killed by a NightClan patrol. Burntstar is due to retire in May, Willowsong could be in power during the battle in which the MoonClan kits are injured or killed, and decide to change their alliance. However, this will force us to wait another month to have the battle begin, we could have a MoonClan/NightClan battle on the weekend of the 17th in which MoonClan attacks NightClan, possibly in response to Toxicstar’s death.

New Rule: Doll-Maker Limit

Posted by Ember on March 7, 2015 at 12:05 AM Comments comments (14)

Recently there has been a large wave of doll-maker created pictures posted on the art pages, my moderators and I are concerned they are turning the attention of the art pages away from member created artwork and don’t fit clearly into the rule requiring all images posted there to be either original, or significantly edited. As well as that, images eat up a lot of bandwidth, which is growing tighter the more new members are accepted onto the website.

From now on, members will be permitted to have five doll-maker created pictures on their album at a time. The number is by picture, not by number of dolls on the picture. For example, if a member posts had one big family tree with 10 different dolls on it, the image would still count as one doll-maker created picture, not ten. Dolls that have been significantly edited will not fall under this category. Whether a doll has been taken directly or significantly edited, the artist must be specifically cited or a link to the doll maker provided. Members may choose which images they wish to have on their album, as long as they have no more than five.

On March 13th, a week from now, I will be going through the albums and removing dolls from albums containing more dolls than allowed under this new rule. The five most recent will be left, assuming the doll-maker itself was properly cited in the description of the picture. If you have more than five dolls on your album, please select which ones you will keep and remove the rest before this date.

Plot Planning

So, where do you guys think we should be taking the plot?

In the last blog entry, we were talking over a few ideas about Wildstar getting captured. A patrol of MoonClan apprentices or young warriors could accidentally or on purpose stray into NightClan’s territory, Wildstar and possibly some older warriors could go after them to bring them back to MoonClan’s territory before NightClan discovers what they have done. They are attacked by a NightClan patrol, and Wildstar is taken captive by those warriors. It would be best if more violent, impulsive warriors were on this patrol as more cautious warriors wouldn’t be risking starting a bigger fight by doing this. Raven & Co. suggested that they demand the territory they lost in the last battle in return for giving Wildstar back. This could be a way for them to potentially back down without starting a larger conflict over it, while not looking like cowards. However, MoonClan might be too proud to do this and insist that Wildstar be given back with nothing given in return, since they will believe that NightClan is in the wrong.

Thoughts?

DawnClan could easily get pulled into this conflict due to their ties with MoonClan, but as things are right now between the change of leadership and the fact that they don’t have anything on the line if they stay out of it, SunClan doesn’t have much reason to be involved.

New Rule

Posted by Ember on February 8, 2015 at 8:30 PM Comments comments (5)

My moderators and I have been concerned with the trend of remaking characters from other places as characters on the site. A new rule is being added: All characters must be original and belong to the owner. Characters copied from books, TV shows, etc. are not allowed.

Characters that have been taken from somewhere else who have already been created to not need to be deleted, however no more can be made after this point. Having a character loosely based on or named after a character from somewhere else is fine, but they should not be a direct copy of that character.

Sixth Anniversary

Posted by Ember on January 16, 2015 at 3:00 AM Comments comments (30)

Today, the 16th of January, marks the sixth anniversary of the creation of the site. When Silverwing and I created this site, we could have never imagined it would grow this big or become such an amazing community of talented roleplayers and artists. This past year has been amazing, we have seen some of the biggest changes that this website has ever gone through with the exciting plot developments and just the sheer number of members we have welcomed onto it.

I have to thank all of the staff members for all of the work that they have done this past year keeping the website running smoothly. I couldn’t run it without you, guys.

Sunken, we made it another year. StarClan knows it wasn’t always easy, but we made it. Thank you so much for the support over this past year, the site simply would not exist without you, I couldn’t do it all on my own. You’re an amazing person, you make me laugh until I cry and always know the best way to handle things. Your art is amazing, your drawings have so much emotion wrapped in them and no matter what you say, your cat anatomy is pretty great as well. Your characters are just fun to read, they feel like real people.

Angel, you’re the best. Just fun to be around and someone I know I can depend on to help manage the website. You are one of the best roleplayers I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, your characters are so well fleshed-out and you are so comfortable playing a wide range and number of characters without making mere caricatures to set them apart from each other.

Spotty, it’s amazing to see how much your roleplaying and art has progressed since you joined. Just. Wow. You’ve become an amazing writer and artist in such a short amount of time, it’s apparent how much work you put into everything. Your characters are truly admirable cats, they have a depth and genuine goodness to them that very few can achieve. You’re always eager to help out around the site and make an excellent moderator, always patient and composed.

Mocking, jeez, I don’t even know where to begin. Since the moment you’ve joined the roleplay, you’ve been an amazingly helpful member. You know when to hang back and when to step up. You’re amazingly kind, funny, creative-- just an all around joy to be around. On top of that, you are one of the best writers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. All of your characters are amazingly realistic and different from each other, never have I felt like you were forcing something when roleplaying with you and you know just how to play your characters off of eachother, and off of other characters to bring out the most interesting parts in everyone.

Of course, where would the site be without its members? We could not exist without you, you are the life of the website and I honestly believe that we have one of the best mixes of members of any roleplay out there. It’s amazing to watch you grow as roleplayers, to make friends with such a unique, kind, and talented group of people.

Flight, you are practically the backbone of this site at this point. You’ve been on longer than just about anyone else, you’re someone I know that I can always depend on to be doing the right thing. The site really depends on people like you.

Rainy, you’ve always been an excellent roleplayer and I’m so glad to have you back, you were always a calm, nice member who I knew that I could depend on to follow the rules and develop the site-wide plot without trying to make it all about yourself.

Misty, it’s great to have you back on the site Misty, you’ve got a beautiful, quiet roleplay style that is really unique. You’re great for bringing out sides of characters that might otherwise not have been given the chance to come out.

Lily, you are the sweetest person and an amazing roleplayer. Your characters are very human, or, well, cat. They’ve got a real depth to their emotions, you don’t shy away from showing exactly how bad things are for them when things do get bad.

Shadow, you’re adorable. Your posts are a lot of fun to read and all of your drawings are so cute, you’ve got a great sense of humor and it’s been a lot of fun to get to know you this past year.

Oscat, I wish timezones would cooperate and I got more chances to roleplay with you, because what I have seen I do like. You’re a very considerate person, and always put a lot of heart into everything you do.

Ddcat, roleplaying with you always brings a smile to my face, your quirky characters and sense of humor is great. You know what kind of characters and plots you like to play and unapologetically do just that.

Lavender, you are one of the most genuinely sweet people that I know. I love reading your posts and seeing your art, you definitely have your own take on things and it’s just such an optimistic, refreshing look. Your enthusiasm always cheers me up!

Savage, you really do throw yourself completely into everything you do. It’s so clear in your roleplaying that you really care about the characters and plot and are very eager to help out and willing to roleplay with anyone.

Larka, it’s so nice to have a calm, dependable member around the site. You aren’t afraid to step forward when you need to and are a great help with orienting new members and catching mistakes made around the site.

Silverwind, you’re one of the best roleplayers I know, all of your posts always are so full of detail and you clearly put a lot of thought into them. You’re very helpful, always quick to speak up when you see a mistake on the pages.

Shadecloud, your characters have consistent personalities without becoming boring or being defined by only a handful of traits, they’re always given reasonable motives and weaknesses. Your grounded style of roleplaying is a breath of fresh air, anyone who would look over your quieter style is missing out.

RiverSoul, you have some confidence that I can say most people only wish that they had. You are not afraid to step up and have some fun, to go places in a roleplay that others would be nervous about and to enjoy it every single step of the way.

Summer Rain, you’re just a joy, I know I sound like an old lady saying that, but it’s true. You’re so nice and it reflects in your characters, it’s great to have a member around who really does understand how to write a character who is both very kind, but as strong as any warrior in the forest. You’re so much fun to roleplay with for it, and just to chat with out of character as well.

Fangchica, your roleplaying style lends itself to the best of fast-paced, animated scenes. Your characters have a light care-free tone to them that few people can genuinely achieve, it always makes roleplaying with you a lot of fun.

Ripple, your roleplaying is just amazing. Just, wow. Wow. Your characters are so interesting and really just a lot of fun to read, they’ve got quite the personalities but never step out of the realm of realistic. You know just how to word everything to bring out their personalities, as well as the characters of anyone who is roleplaying with you.

Dire Wolf, you always seem to be having a lot of fun on the site and it’s hard not to be dragged into that when roleplaying with you, your characters are reserved but that’s not to say they’re forgettable, they all have very unique personalities.

Twin Devils, you’re the nicest person and have a great sense of humor with a perfect sense of timing, you’ve brought many a smile onto my face jumping into conversations. Your art is amazing, you’ve got such a good handle on how to use bold colors without being obnoxious with it. And that doesn’t even mention your roleplaying. Simply put, you have an amazing skill at roleplaying. Your characters are believable and really, just generally fun to read and interact with.

Mistwing, you are such a caring member, just a joy to have around the site. Reading your characters interacting is very entertaining; with a just a few words you can give them a lot of personality.

BLH, you’re a very sweet person, never one to be rude or downright mean to others. Your quieter character development style has a nice, laid-back pace to their development that not everyone can pull off.

Swan, you’ve got a lot of personality. You’re not afraid to put yourself out there, be it while just chatting or while roleplaying. Your characters have very diverse, well-rounded personalities and you know just how to highlight their differences with a realistic grasp of their strengths and weaknesses.

Patch, you are so friendly, always so eager to talk to everyone and a nice, kind and optimistic voice in the crowd who really understands how to keep a conversation going or cheer people up. I always look forward to chatting and roleplaying with you.

Briarheart, you’re a lot of fun to roleplay with Briar, all of your characters have very vivid personalities but never go over the top and unrealistic.

Dragonfeather, I was so happy to see your message to me about returning to the site, I was sad to see such a sweet, enthusiastic role-player go.

Darkcrown, I don’t know you very well yet, but you seem to be a very creative roleplayer and I hope that I get the chance to get to know you a lot better in the future.

Jaybird, your enthusiasm is infectious. I always look forward to roleplaying with you or even just chatting, you always seem to be having so much fun on the site and it shows in your writing.

Flash, you’re just so friendly, you always seem so eager to interact with other members be it in roleplaying or out of character.

Ravenpaw, it’s rare we get a member as active as you. And I don’t mean just posting on the forums every day. You’re all over the site, commenting on pages, always giving great comments on art, easily roleplaying with a great variety of people instead of staying in one little clique, etc. You clearly do care about the other members and it’s wonderful l to have someone around that works so hard to let everyone else know that they’re not just alone, being ignored and talking to themselves on a site of 40 people.

Adderkit, you are always filled with such a happy energy, it’s a lot of fun to talk or roleplay with you. It’s really amazing to see you play characters like Adderkit, then turn around and then turn around and play Smoketalon. You have an amazing grasp on how to portray characters and there’s an amazing balance in all of them, childish but not stupid, arrogant but not completely unlikeable.

Skullface, I’m so happy to have you back on the site, you always have a way of bringing light into a room. I’ve probably had about five conversations with you in which you didn’t have me laughing so hard I turned bright red and could barely breathe.

Berrytail, Silvermoon, Summerpelt, and Littlekit: I haven’t known you for very long, but I definitely like what I see and hope to get to know you better in the future!

It’s been just a great year guys and I look forward to another amazing year with y’all!

Where do you guys want to take the plot from here?

I think that SunClan and MoonClan are due to win a battle and since Wildstar has showed interest in destroying NightClan entirely, they can go and attack NightClan.  Sunken suggested a new battle strategy, where they will attack in waves.  Each clan will split into two or three groups, not too many so we don't get confused about who is in each group and who is attacking when.  Each will attack for a bit and then return, exhausting NightClan's warriors and giving their own cats time to be tended to by the medicine cat before those who are able, go back to fighting in another wave.

I think this would be an interesting strategy to use, though not for this battle.  If MoonClan and SunClan attack NightClan together, they should be trying to end the battle as quickly as possible before NightClan has a chance to turn to DawnClan for help.  It would work far better in an attack against both DawnClan and NightClan together, if SunClan and MoonClan had a great advantage in numbers and could afford to leave warriors out of the battle.

It is also possible our current alliances will begin to crumble, SunClan may not agree with MoonClan trying to destroy NightClan and after Bluestar dies, NightClan and DawnClan may begin to grow apart again.  I personally think we should try to keep up with how things have been for a while longer, both sides seem equally matched and for how things how the clans have begun to feel about eachother, I don't think we could have any other strong alliances for some time.

Plot Planning

Hey guys! It’s time for us to get back to planning the direction we want the plot to head in.

Our last few wars have been relatively short and painless, it seems a bit overdue for a large, devastating war to happen again. For this to happen, we need to keep the main plot in mind while roleplaying at all times, while some aspects of clan life will remain unchanged, it is important to remember that they are, in fact, in a lot of danger at all times. This needs to be shown, leaders should be sending more border patrols, apprentices and mentors should be focusing on battle practice, the war and plans for it should be a very common topic of discussion between warriors and other cats. Basically, just push the plot a little darker and make the overall plot more present in the day to day lives of our characters.

Over the next few weeks there will be several large shifts in leadership to put leaders more likely to be stirring up a lot of trouble in charge. Quite a few of the current highranking cats will be dying, so we can use that as a way to get the clans even angrier at each other than they already are.

There are a few ideas I have for how we can start off from here, but feel free to suggest your own if you have a better idea. First off, MoonClan and SunClan can attack NightClan’s camp and defeat them together, cementing DawnClan’s alliance to NightClan. MoonClan can attack DawnClan for taking sides with NightClan when the kits were kidnapped. It’s petty, but MoonClan is the most likely to do something like that. A border skirmish could break out between NightClan and SunClan in which Ivorystar dies or loses a few lives, leading for NightClan to attack SunClan with DawnClan’s help.

Thoughts? Past whichever of these we choose, where do you think it should go past there?

There will be a gathering this weekend, starting tomorrow morning and possibly lasting until Monday, depending on when people get online.  MoonClan and SunClan will be confronting NightClan about the kits they believe NightClan kidnapped.  NightClan still does not know about the kidnapped kits and DawnClan will believe they are telling the truth, defending them from MoonClan and SunClan's accusations.

Leaders, please post which characters are going below.  Try to bring around 30 and please make sure that every active member has at least one cat attending the gathering.

We're going to be having a gathering this weekend, beginning Friday evening and ending before Monday, once all of the leaders have spoken.

During the gathering, the clans will accuse eachother of taking their missing kits, resulting in severed alliances between all the clans.  Leaders, please post below a list of cats from your clan that will be attending the gathering.  Try to keep it to around 30 cats, make sure that every active member has at least one cat attending the gathering.

Plot

Halfspirit, Flightwing, Rainpelt, and Mockingpaw & Co. came up with this plot idea to get the clans back into the war.  Several NightClan kits, lead by Apocalypsekit and Ravenkit, kidnapped kits from all of the other clans and brought them to a secret base in an abandoned hotel, possibly Raven's Fortress, as a prank to the other clans.  NightClan does not know about this yet, and while the other clans have noticed their missing kits a recent rainstorm washed away the scent before they could be tracked.

A gathering can take place in which all of the clans blame eachother for the missing kits, breaking all alliances that still exist between the clans and bringing up more tension between them.  The kits will be discovered by a clan, possibly SunClan because they are by far closest to Raven's Fortress, and the clan will declare war on NightClan.  Who would you guys like to be at war with eachother or be allies?  How do you guys want this to play out?

Here is the list of cats captured, please make corrections if I am wrong on any of these: Ravenkit, Apocalypsekit, Pheonixpaw, Glacierpaw, Cougarkit, Heronkit, Rika, Killian, Jaykit, Frozenkit, Twilightkit, Chilledkit, Divinekit, Opalkit, Bluekit, Lavenderkit, and Applekit.

There will be a gathering beginning tomorrow, the 18th of April.  During this gathering, SunClan -backed by DawnClan- will accuse NightClan of killing their former medicine cat, Coldheart.  This should spark anger from both sides, though should not end in a fight.  Leaders, please post which characters will be attending the gathering.  If your leader cannot make it, deputies please post the characters and speak for your clan.  Have 25-30 cats come from each clan, try to make sure each member has at least one character going.

Here's my idea:

After Rainstar and Hawkstar retire, Lilystar goes to SunClan trying to make peace. Duskstar hears her out and realizes that DawnClan was not responsible for Coldheart's death and agrees to a truce between the two clans. One of them or one of their deputies brings this up in the next gathering, implying that Coldheart was killed by NightClan. NightClan is outraged and MoonClan comes to their defense. DawnClan and SunClan make an alliance hoping to protect themselves as tension grows. Eventually something happens between SunClan/DawnClan and MoonClan/NightClan, starting a battle between the two.

This could bring NightClan and MoonClan into the plot and start the alliance between the two that we thought would be really cool before, plus it would force SunClan and DawnClan to be a major part of the plot, not merely backup for NightClan and MoonClan.  What do you guys think of it?  Have any ideas of your own?
