“MoonClan is the oldest and most noble clan, founded by myself, Moonstar. Living deep within in the forest, they get their food from the birds and rodents living there. They are the bravest clan and have the closest relationship with StarClan, but can look down on the other clans. While they have the greatest respect for our traditions, even they have been known to ignore parts of our code that are inconvenient.
“Living in the harsh city, NightClan is the most cunning and fierce clan. Fallenstar founded them in the hopes of uniting the city, but found that the traditions of the clans and even our code had to be adapted. Their food is almost exclusively from scavenging, as very few of their warriors have the ability to hunt. Without the caution of the other clans, they prefer battle over negotiation and are the strongest fighters. Some see them as a cruel clan, as the struggle of survival made them hard cats. While NightClan has questionable morals, cats there are allowed far more freedom than in the other clans where the good of the clan comes before the individual.
“DawnClan is kind and peaceful, more of a family than a clan. Amberstar founded them as a safe place, free from the other feuding clans. They have their home on the wet, river laced land south of MoonClan. Their primary source of prey is fish, but they can also hunt the birds and rodents of the forest, making them the most well fed clan and the only clan that can fish. Their deep hatred of battle and comfortable lives cause the other clans to think they are weak. Do not be fooled, they are not afraid to fight if they must defend themselves.
“SunClan resides on the windy moors south of NightClan. Hares are the only abundant prey on their territory, causing them to be the strongest hunters and best at working in a team in order to survive. SunClan is more cautious than the other clans, and the cats can be quite skittish. They are the most rational and introverted: a think-before-you-leap clan. A much higher value is placed on the clan, rather than the individual. They were formed by a band of loners wishing for the stability of clan life, but with little knowledge of the traditions of the clans and so have many of their own traditions and values separate from the code.”
The voice stops, and you turn around to see the starry figure of a cat.
“Well?” He meows, “Are you ready?”
